knife question for survival use.

Would there be any survival uses of the Applegate-Fairbairn knife. I know with the double sided blade you couldn't baton with it, but what about wood processing, food prep, skinning game, etc? Thanks for any help.

It would not be my first choice.
I think a hunting style blade would be better suited to the multiple tasks required under the general "survival" heading.
Something like a Bob Dozier design, or Boker Big Game Hunter, or even the Orca or Solid Forest.

If it is the style that you like, then you might consider this one. I think it was new last year. It is a spearpoint Applegate.
