I have a knife that i found about 10 years ago in an old house that was to be torn down.I can't find anything about it.Just wondering if someone could help

It has the words EKCO
U.S.A
The blade is 8 inches long, and i guess is carbon steel

The handle is some form of plastic,i know because it is melted a little on the very end.

Just would like to know something about the maker. Thanks for any help.

Sorry if i posted this in the wrong place.

I'll go on the assumption that you aren't just joking around. EKCO is a big import supplier of cheap kitchen utensils and other kitchen items (Pots, pans, serving ware,etc.). It is all import stuff that cuts OK, but it is what it is........ a $5 knife.

No,not joking,i just happen to be cleaning in my shop and come across the knife, back when i picked the knife up i was not the least bit interested in knives, just always looking for something old (i quess you could say somebody's junk) and i quess that's what i got.Well thanks for the information.

If someone else reads this(no matter how much of an idot you may think i am) this was not a joke. And oh by the way,the knife is no longer with us,it was placed in the dumpster with the rest of the junk.

P.S. Sorry to say i will not be listing it in the For Sale section.HA HA

But again Stacy, thanks, and the advice and info you give has always been helpful.

Where does a person go to find kitchen knife brands to check out the quality. I have inherited some knives & am trying to see which ones are worth keeping. Thanks for any help.

Welcome to Shop Talk. Filling out your profile is always a good idea.

This is a five year old thread. I am closing it. A Google search with something like, "Comparison of Henkel, Shun, Ecko" ( or whatever knives you have)in the box should help you.
