Knife rec.

You really use all these tools when camping?!
I was going to ask the same question in my post, but decided against at the time. I've been backpacking for years, and never once have come across anything in the wilderness requiring a can opener or corkscrew. Ditto for the screwdriver, wire stripper, and hook(?). Any wood that saw willl cut can probably be broken by hand, or is best left on the ground.

Tweezers are a good idea, but the SAK tweezers are pretty poor compared to the one in my first aid kit.

Hello there. I'm the guy GQGeek is talking about in the first post. Basically I want a small light fixed blade knife for camping. I don't hunt.
The AG Russell I mentioned earlier would be the lightest-weight choice. The Mora would be an excellent choice. Or since you're Canadian you're probably familiar with the Grohmann/Russell sheath knives - don't know if they fit your budget though.

The Bear Claw from Columbia River seems like an OK knife. But I don't know how well the design meets your general-purpose needs.

Welcome to the forum!

I just found this one. It might be the one.

I found the mini for $25.
That's very similar to the AG Russell Hunter's Scalpel. Carefull check out the specs, photos, and prices of AG's and CS's, and go for it! They're both very inexpensive, so if you pick wrong the first time, it's easily to live with.

I'm not Canadian. I live in NC.
Wonder where in hell I got that from? Probably some Canadian looking for an outdoor knife in some other topic. Sorry.

Anyway, check out the Ghrohmann knives. Perhaps too 'common' if you were in Canada. They'll ~really~ stand out in North Carolina!
