Definitely. I've had 7 or 8 Bradford Guardians. Wonderful knives; the G3's are carried in a
factory-provided leather cross-draw. I've carried mine for the last yr or more every day.
I've never actually owned (or even handled) one. Just ogled at them. The G4 is as close as I've found to a larger (but not too large) Street Beat. Too heavy and wide, I think. But it was the first knife that came to mind when I read the OP's preferences.

The Kephart seems to be right up your alley.

Condor Kephart. Hard to beat it the for the price (but Condor sheaths are crap).

L.T. Wright NextGen. Basically a Kephart.

I'd also seriously consider an elliptical blade. Grohmann No. 3 which is priced between the two Kepharts above.

I will second or third the suggestions for the Busse Park Ranger.

Unlike the other more recent Busse products, the Park Rangers have been stated to be built thin, and have a smaller BTE measurement. Not so much that dining a bone will cause damage, but enough that it wouldn't actually be a hindrance while cutting. It is not built like the Chopper Busses.

The Guardian maybe the one. A bit more expensive than was aiming for, but who are we kidding? I don't have any bradfords....yet.

Apologies for using bush craft as descriptor, it's more of a general purpose thing. I'm gonna carry my Esee 3 for a week. I like the knife, but in an urban enviro I'd give up toughness for hardness, since this isn't survival situation. I get the feeling that TOPS goes a bit harder with their HT.

Thanks for the help, and the less common suggestions.

I carry a Landi EDC in his sheath made horizontal with a tech loc clip. Hard to beat for the price. Perfect size for me on the belt in front.

I like the TOPS Skinat. Not the sliciest blade profile, but it is tough, solid, fits the hand well, and will handle almost any job you throw at it. I didn't like the factory Kydex, however, so I put mine in leather.

I would check Knifemakers For Sale Fixed Blades about 3 times a day, but you may not have the time. Whatever works.

This is what I would say too, but if you are into that whole brevity thing, a couple of different looks...

The Tom Mack Hunt from White River Knives is cool. It comes in their S35VN with a really utilitarian design.

The Ka-Bar Dog's Head Coppersmith... Root Beer jigged bone handles and D2 steel make a nice package.

Both of these can be had over at KnifeCenter or similar.
