Would anyone like to help me choose my next knife ? Just recently started getting into knives.

So far I have a Boker kwaiken carbon fiber, a Spyderco Yojimbo 2 (Love at first flick) and a Kershaw Knockout OD green.

I was looking at the Spyderco Sage 1 (Beautiful Knife) but I was told its a small knife and a have big hands, think bear paws lol.

Any other good Brands I should consider ?

It will be a present from my wife so I don't want to go overboard under $150 would be ideal. Thanks :)

Paramilitary 2, especially if you appreciate the compression lock on your Yojimbo 2. Super smooth and good sized handle with built in choil. I've got a Kwaiken too, and my Para2 is second in line on smoothness. Same price as the Yojimbo 2 for the basic model, about $120. Can find a great deal on one here in the Exchange.

Not too familiar with Cold Steel myself, but from all I've heard, would check them out for a larger knife too. I'm sure someone can lead you in the right direction with a Cold Steel.

Check out the exchange for a ZT 452.

If that doesn't catch your eye, look for a Benchmade 940, 710, 810, possibly something from DPx, or look for a Spyderco Military in your choice of steel.

The pm2 is at great all around edc with a very comfortable large handle. The Sage 1 is a very nice 3inch blade and comfortable to use for most with big hands. Also an Endura with zdp steel is a fine all around knife.

I really like the Finn wolf from Cold steel. I want to pre-order the Spyderco Sage 5 with the compression lock but there's no actual release date for it and like every other grown man....... I want my toy now lol. My brother already has the PM2 being a twin I want nothing he already has which sucks because he wont shut up about it.

The Spyderco Paramilitary 2 is an economical version and comes in S30V in about three flavors of scale color. For a little over 100, you cannot go wrong.
Or, you can spend more and get the same "PM2" in a better blade-steel, but it costs more money. There are a lot of new release PM2's on the Exchange right now in CPM-M4...an excellent steel which is not stainless, but will be just fine if you wipe it off when it gets wet. M4 is not bad to resharpen and holds its edge a long time, and folks love it. I've seen them for a hair less than $200. OR, you can find a brown model in S35VN for maybe 160 or so. Different steels cost more or less money.
It is certainly my first choice and recommendation.
As one person mentioned, if you have GIANT hands, you could go to the MILITARY model which has a longer blade and a longer grip and will last and last and last... The knife-shops have them for about 160... a 4" blade and G10 grips...a very nice knife and designed by Spyderco CEO Sal Glesser, who figured this is what he would want his son to carry if he were deployed...

Gayle Bradley 2. Your brother will be jealous. $130 or less if you shop around.

Any feedback on the Spyderco Domino ? That cold steel code 4 looks nice but isnt it AUS8 steel ?

Oooo... thats one sweet looking blade. Does the carbon fiber on the Gayle Bradley have any texturing or is it smooth ?

New ones are cts-xhp. It would be akin to a higher hardness 440c or a more stain resistant and finer grained D2.

The GB1&2 have CF laminate over g10 iirc. M4 steel designed as a strong work knife that can dress up for the weekends.

How about the Cold Steel Ultimate Hunter. It has CTS-XHP and a very nice handle. Also Cold Steel Recon 1 series is a good size knife. Good luck. Kevin

Not smooth. Light basket weave. I find it works well but not as good as something like the PM2's G10.

NJBillK is the man. Following his suggestion you will never regret.

Just buy every knife on bladehq it's bound to happen sooner or later

Someone else said it but the ctsxhp version can be had for around $100 it preforms like d2 in my experiences, I actually like it better than all the s30v knives I've tried.

CS Recon 1, AK47 and Code 4 are my recommendations, extremely high value for under $100 and excellent for big hands

Skip the Para and go straight for the Military. Your XL hands will thank you! The Para is good but the Millie is just as good and maybe better IMO!
