Knife Recommendations for Law Enforcement

On duty I carry a serrated Spyderco Endura in a sheath on my belt for pure utility, and times when someone asks "hey can I borrow your knife for a second?". It is all beat to hell, but still cuts incredibly. I have gotten years of service from this knife for a relatively small amount of money.

I also carry an Emerson Commander, or lately my Microtech LCC, in my pocket for "other" reasons mostly.

I like to have my Emerson La Griffe under my shirt as well.

How about the MOD CQD? The ATAC Support Blade makes cutting through seat belts and clothing a breeze without further injury to accident victims. The handle is large enough so you can use it comfortably even with gloves on. The only downside about it is the size. It takes up a lot of pocket space, but with the included ballistic nylon sheath, it carries on the belt easily.

I carry a large CRKT KFF in a sheath on my duty belt and a Spyderco Matriarch in my right front pocket, just in case...

Go for the new SOG Night Vision....SOG's products are quite good...i just dun like their Pentagon Elite 1...the blade seems to be very loose..and after a while, the blade tends to get scratched against the liners...

EdLovr,

I carry a MOD CQD. It is a great knife! Handle is on the big side, but feels very secure, even with gloves on. Has a seatbelt/webbing cutter on the non-pointy end

It's guaranteed for life, but built like a tank so I don't forsee ever sending mine in. A pic is at http://albums.photopoint.com/j/ViewPhoto?u=1092947&a=9512486&p=31271823 . It is available in automatic.
Now the commercial plug, my wife carries them on her website, she also offers a 20% discount for police, military (active and prior) and EMS/S&R. http://www.gogetemgear.com

Hehehe If I run into you sometime at CIRCA (inside joke) I'll show you the SERE 2000, and you won't have to think about other knives...
