Hey all,
I recently sold off a bit of my collection and made about 400usd. I would like to inquire about some of the high end knives that I can purchase for that price. I'm new to high end knives so any feedback is greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Welcome! I say get a Sebenza (there are many, many models to choose from). The small is about $350; the Large is about $410 (new). And they show up on the Exchange here from time to time as well.

Here's my small Insingo - love this knife - it just oozes quality:

That doesn't give us much to go on.

Fixed or folding?
What do do with your knives?
Do you enjoy sharpening?

That should give us something to start with.

Fixed, folders, high wear resistance, great toughness, exotic handke materials, 3" or 5"? So many parameters what criteria do you prefer in a knife???

Go to bladeHQ and knifecenter, and use their search criteria to look in your price range(s) go see what you like.. The two will have a lot of overlap, but often have a few different models/brands in their respective stock as well... I use those two sites because they have the best search features IMO.

Or, check the exchange and also the custom knife maker forums here, and see if there are any cutoms you may be interested in...

If it was me I'd go sebenza. I truly love mine. And as a knife guy you will always wonder about them. If you have the cash now you won't be out later if you decide to sell it. Might lose a little but will still have most of he money you spent on it to get whatever else you wantN

If you buy anything else and decide you don't want it and sell it you'll probably have to save up again to get the sebenza. Jmo

I would go with Busse,Randall,Cold Steel,Down Under Knives or Himalayan Imports, large blades.....Folders,I like classics such as Case.

I would take a hard look at the Benchmade 761. Similar to Sebenza in many ways, but rides on ball bearings and much better blade steel (Sebenza s35vn gets dull way too easy).
