Knife Related New Years Resolutions.

Stop buying knives for good. So far this year I've tried to pick up a vg10 titanium boker kwaiken, but the sale didn't come through. I currently log over 100 folders in my collection and a few fixed blades. I don't like getting rid of anything so I'm gonna hold on to them, but I'm done buying knives.

I started out with the flicker/thumb studs folders, purchased a few custom made fixed blades and now working on my traditional knife collection. So my goal this year is to sell some of the folders that fall into the “I’m not sure why I purchased now” class and my CHILDRESS*Drop Point ATS34 & Big Leaf Maple, which I plan on posting for sale sometime today. I just received a Northwoods Indian River Jack that I purchased from another member and want to start adding to my single blade traditional folder collection.

One common takeaway from this thread and the "annual budget" thread seems to be
1 Really think about your knife purchases.
2 If your yearly knife budget is 1000.00 buy 4 or fewer knives that you'll like and use instead of A dozen or more you won't.*

Good advice!

i shall only buy and keep knives im willing to carry...no more safe queens:-)

I will only buy one knife this year, and continuously save my money towards a Rolex GMT Master II

My resolution is to buy fewer knives this year and learn to sharpen on my wicked edge.

Anything I get better equal to or top what I have ,and to stop buying knives I get bored with and wind up selling a few months later.

Thin out the collection
Buy my first custom
Go to blade show in June!!!!
Maybe 2&3 will happen at the same time.

Since I can't find exactly what I want I'm going to have a custom made. Going to try to make that my only purchase and save up for a new ccw and retire my Glock.
