I have an old knife, single blade with stag or bone (?) that has a rusty pitted blade that is loose and doesn't lock open tight. A previous owner had sand blasted it looking for a maker name. I like the looks of this knife and am wondering if there are pocket knife makers who would put a new blade in this knife, duplicating the pattern, and tighten it up etc. and what the approximate cost would be. Thanks.

Bob Picklesimer has fixed up some knives for me. Picked up a Vess/Voos ? jack with a missing pin and worn/gunked up blades, he fixed that up. Found a nice Remington barlow, the pen blade was literally a nubbin. He turned it into a single blade and put new green bone scales on. Found a Camillus cattleman stockman, perfect shape except the plastic scales were broken in spots. He put red bone scales on it. He was recommended to me by STR.

Glennbad has done some great work here as well. I found a copy of the book Pocketknife Repair at a knife show last year, looking forward to trying my hand at fixing some knives that Jack Black sent me. I have some cool ideas for them, but I guess I need a swift kick in the butt to get moving on them!
