Knife shape input?

The pins are rather close togather. Off the top of my head I think 1/4 the length of the scales in from the ends of the scales is a good place to start. So you got 4" long scales then try 1" in from the ends. Having the space between the pins double the space of the pins from the ends seams to be pleasing to the eye. but it also depends on the design. The further the pins are apart the more "strength" thy have togather. I use the word strength loosely, it's more of a leverage thing that keeps the scales from twisting or shifting when it's dropped.

i would agree with everything so far... particularly that i find it could lose a little weight as well

When photographing a knife, you need to put a ruler or something to act as a size comparison. A ruler is a very good idea when asking for critique.

The blade looks really fat in the photos.
