Knife sharpening: A tool for small blades and idiots.

I made myself a small magnetic table to sharpen those small blades on SAK and similar knives. I used the strongest neodymium magnets I could get in our company (cubes 12x10x8 milimeters) but the magnetic force is still small because of the small mass and contact area of those blades. I wonder how this WorkSharp small magnetic table holds those small blades.
I've used the Worksharp Precision Pro small blade magnetic table on some small SAKs and traditionals. The table itself did fine (was a tiny bit loose on the dovetail mount), but I felt the included diamond plates were too large for those size of blades.

IMO, sharpening very small blades with the 1" wide plates that all the fixed angle systems come with isn't a good fit. There will be areas that the wide plates can't reach and you'll eat a lot of blade material away if you try and grind it even.

Now I use the Leading Edge magnetic table attachment on my TS Prof. I use 1/2” wide water stones with small blades and even 1/4” wide files on swiss army blades and smaller.
