Thanks for the insight of washboard! I think I'd want one, or get someone make one for me. Specs?

Awesome, there isn't enough sharpening videos.

ive often wanted to make my own for sashimi knives.

HH, how come awestib gets a washboard and I don't? :grumpy: I want one! Make me one and send it to me.

Cmon, Awestib has Butch and Sundance for an avatar. And, not being a native speaker I thought he might be limited in how colorfully he could call my washboard a POS:).

Send me an email if you're serious...

Good video, Andy.

I smiled early in the vid, when you mentioned the tendency to push the spine of the knife downward, if leaving a finger resting at the spine. I've noticed a very similar tendency in my own habits if doing the same thing. Thus, I've also come to prefer keeping one or two finger(s) as close to the portion of the edge in contact with the stone as possible, and keeping the rest of my fingers away from the blade. I've also noticed this seems to 'focus' any feedback felt, to the area that's actually being worked.

I'm also intrigued by HeavyHanded's 'washboard' for stropping, and that gives me some inspiration to experiment along similar lines (Much Thanks! to HH for this also. ).

Well done!
