Hey, maybe I am describing it funny but I can't find this device I saw on late night TV. It is a knife sharpener that looks like a miniature belt grinder. Looks to be powered by some rechargeable rotary device and has tiny (maybe 1/2x6-8") grinding belts that ride on three small wheels. It has guides that fit on it for different angles, or csn be used freehand for axes and such.
I hate to say this, but I was watching this while on a watch 3 call over someones shoulder and didn't see the name brand, price, or anything that's helping me describe it. Anyone familiar with this thing?
It looks to be a fairly decent way of sharpening a knife provided the tension and all that is correct... Basically like edging one on a slack belt or the old mousepad technique...
I am constantly asked for opinions on the best power sharpener by non-knife enthusiast friends. Truthfully I don't particularly like any of them. Would like to see if this is in the same boat....

Was it something like this?

That would be it! Thanks... Figured I would have run across this thing before if its been around a while... guess I just chalked it up as some sort of powerfile type device... Will have to try one out ..

I slack belt then ceramic stone all my blades, but never have a good suggestion for anyone that asks for something they can use. (Which I am sure they think it is a ploy to glean $$ for sharpening service from them :)) Price doesn't justify me using one in the shop I don't think, but maybe if I can talk someone into getting one I can play with it..

Thanks guys. I knew someone here would know what I was talking about...

My brother has one and he swears by it; this is from a guy that used to sharpen all the knife blades in the neighborhood back in the day.
