A friend of mine is currently visiting in Italy. Knowing that I'm a knife nut, he sent me this photo from a local shop.

Impressive number of knives - but I wouldn't buy knives from someone who displays them this way - too high a risk of blade damage

I hope nobody was in that shop when the earthquake hit!
I wish I'd stumble across a store like that more often. I happened to run across one in Maine last year, and it was fun. Almost all of the knives were cheap "Fury" type stuff, but it was cool to look through anyway. You never know what you might find.

The ones you see on display are usually the cheap stuff. If you ask he will have better stuff in the back, or his van if it is a market stall.

In Florence there was a Knife cart near the Duomo. They had a similar display, good stuff mixed in with the cheep stuff. It's been a long time since I was there though.

They mostly look like cheapo deluxes, but I'd have a blast looking through them.:D

I see what appears to be a Buck 110 and 560 up near the top right of center. Also what appears to be a Kershaw Nakamura. Cool picture!
