Hi folks,

Need some help here.
I am leaving for Savannah, GA from NYC for 10 days to my sister's. States I will be crossing are NY, NJ, PA, DE, MD, D.C., VA, NC, SC, and GA.
I was wondering if anyone here has any information regarding knife shops off I-95. I wouldn't mind driving couple of miles off I-95 to visit the shop.
I would love to get a "feel" for knife before I buy since I am a beginner in this area and only own couple of cheap knives. With tougher knife laws in NY, I would prefer getting the knife in other state rather then ordering them online to ship it to NY.

I am not sure if this would be any help but the knives I am interested in are,
ESEE 6
Beckers (2,7 and 9)
Ontario (RTAK)
Cold Steel (Rajah II)
and, probably some other.

Lastly, are the shop prices higher then internet prices?

Thank you :)

P.S. I would also appreciate any information on where else I can get more information on this question?

As far as MA goes, lots of local shops have closed down. your choices are either Army/Navy stores (Salem and Boston) or the cutlery shop in Fanueil Hall Marketplace (Boston). I seem to remember there being a Bass Pro down Foxborough way. None of these are exactly off 95/128.

Prices will likely be higher at Brick&Mortar shops (rent, utilities, taxes, etc.). However, what you see is what you get... You can check fit, finish, grinds, balance, etc. You don't get to do that online.

Ahh, thank your for your response but I am sorry. I screwed up. I meant MA(which is for Massachusetts) for Maryland. I don't know why I wrote MA instead of MD.

There is a BassPro about 2 miles east of 95 in Hanover,MD which is a little south of Charm City (Baltimore). They have a good selection of knives/sharpeners/accessories.

There is a Bass Pro Shop on the northern edge of Richmond in Ashton. You can see it from 95. I've lived in MD and VA for years and I still haven't found a good dedicated knife shop in the DC metro area. I'll definitely have to check out Edgeworks. Can't believe I never visited there.
