I'm not sure where to post this. Where are some good knife shops other than Bass Pro Shops in Central Florida? I have been looking for the last 6 months and not any good dedicated knife shops. Chris Reeve,Spyderco, Kershaw, Microtech, ZT, Strider

In Lake County (outside of Umatilla, FL) you can try Ruff's Saddle Shop. Look them up on the web, get a map to their shop in the country, and take their phone # with you in case you have to call. It may take a bit of doing to get there if you're not familiar with Lake County, but it'll be worth the trip. Or it was for me when I was last there 2 years ago. It is a custom saddle shop, but he's got a real thing for knives and one whole wall of his shop is set up as a display for Spyderco, Benchmade, BRKT, Kershaw, ESEE, Buck, and some other brands I don't remember.

There's also Peterson's Gun Shop between Tavares and Eustis in Lake County on Old SR44. His knife selection isn't as big as Ruff's but it's a bit different than a shop like Bass Pro.

Yep ruffs. the best. good folks. they have an internet site too called cowboy knives......so you can see what they carry. its a bit of a haul from idrive orlando area. worth the trip though.

There is a little knife shop in Ocoee that is not bad. The guy usually sets up at the fairgrounds when the gunshow rolls around. He has weird hours, but worth a look if you are in the area. He carries some ZT, Spyderco, and the like, but has some unusual stuff as well. Wife bought me a ZT 0303 for a decent price.

Name of store? Thank you Sir.

I dont think it even has a name, more of a store front for eventory, but it does have displays and is open to the public. Its in a little strip of stores on Cumberland Ave. at the intersection of Mckey St. I believe the guy's name is Anderson. I will see if I can find you an address or phone number.
Found this:

Ocoee Pawn Shop
(407) 656-0027

This is either the business or the store he shares space with, not sure, sorry. If you give them a call they maybe able to direct you to him. I have been there before and the only signage near his shop says Ocooe Pawn, but onece inside it doesnt seem to be the same store. Anyway, if you are bored and in the area its worth a look.

Yes, does he set up at the gun show at the Central Florida fairgrounds? If so, I almost bought a tenacious from him but he wanted a little to high. Thanks for the help

Hate to keep derailing your thread here, but yes I am pretty sure he sets up at the Central Florida Fairgrounds (at least the times I have been there). Anyway, dont think he will beat a lot of the online retailers for price or selection, but he seems to be a nice guy and fair. Also, he did have several microtechs in stock. Sorry couldnt find a name for the store yet.

Edit :Found out from my wife that the guy also sells on ebay, most of his sales actually. The name of his company, according to my credit card statement is Alpha Sports and his number is 407-466-6861. Dont deal with ebay so much so dont know much about him from there, maybe someone else is familiar.

Ruff’s is still there. Great selection of spydercos, benchmades, esee, and others. Bought a Spyderco Stovepipe there a few weeks ago. Great shop and great people.
