It looks like I may be taking a trip up North in the near future and I was wondering if there was anything worth checking out in terms of knife stores in Toronto. Any suggestions? Also, as I will likely be traveling without checked baggage (its a weekend trip), is it at all a hassle to have something shipped from Canada to the US? My guess is no but wanted to ask. Thanks!

S&R in the Woodbine Shopping Centre. Mention you use "Toronto Malls" and you're supposed to get 10% off (http://www.torontomalls.com/retinfo/rstoreinf/srknives.htm)

I was up in TO last year on business. Before I went when I was looking for a Boker Kwaito, I saw they had one on ebay for a good deal but their shipping to the US was pricey (would have made it the same price to get locally). I e-mailed them and said since I was going up there anyways if they could hold one for me at the ebay price since I was coming in from out of town, and they said no problem. Worked out well.

Canada Post is very similar to USPS... They also have flat rate "express post" boxes to the US, you can mark it a gift so you don't pay US duty (although you need to declare full amount if you want insurance). It would be good to have someone you trust in Canada to use as the return address just in case something weird happens at the border...
