This is my backyard.

There is a great knife store in most every mall. Excaliber Cutlery and House of Cutlery come to mind. Either of those can be found in the Northgate Mall or the Alderwood Mall. Great people there, too.

Kelly is the manager of the Northgate Mall Excaliber (she knows her stuff) and I've been in to see her a few times (SOG's owner stops in as well). To her pleasure, I showed her prototypes of upcoming SOG knives and asked her opinions. The most recent was the X-42 Recondo. I showed her it in brushed or bead blasted finish, getting her opinion.

Excaliber has stores in many malls. Check out:

Great stores...go visit them!

The Northgate Excalibur is the only knife shop I've been to that hasn't irritated me. Seattle Cutlery in Pike Place is a joke. I walked in there and they didn't have anything I haven't seen. I showed them my Speedtech Synergy and I felt like I was the one selling knives.

I just found out this evening that www.bladegallery.com is based in Freemont! He doesn't have a storefront though

Oh well maybe he'll let me drop by for a visit. Then there's Tom Marshman who up in Edomnds, but he too doesn't operate a store front either.

Oh well

I guess my cutlery experience will still be limited to the web. BFC and the members here provide more and better information that I could ever gather by going into a brick and mortar anyway.

Welcome to the forums!

p.s. Anyone interested in getting together some time in October? (When school starts up again)

Thanks Ron!

I never even thought of the malls. I usually make quick "in and out trips" to Southcenter or SouthHill Mall in Puyallup.

I will definitely investigate.
