Hello DC area forumites!! I recently moved to the DC area from North Carolina and was curious about the shows here. Can anyone pass on insight about what shows (knife and gun)that take place in the DC area? Thanks in adavance for your help.

In December, there is the Chesapeake knife show in Timonium, MD. That's just north of Baltimore. The nicest custom show in reasonable distance. Otherwise NYC is only about 4 to 5 hours away by car. There are several shows there. Look in Tactical Knives or Blade magazine for dates and locations.

Try the Old Dominion Gun Shows in Virginia such as bealton, Dale city, Leesburg or harrisonburg. you will find knife dealers there that sell ALL kind s of knives!

Welcome to the area. The others had good recommendations, so I won't parrot them. What part of NC did you hail from? I have lots of family down there. I also attended school in NC (Campbell Univ).

C'mon, Doug. You've gone to many lengths to avoid coming to our shows, but moving to D.C. to avoid meeting us at the SE Custom show this weekend takes the cake!

I understand there are knife shows on 14th Street every Saturday night. Guns sometimes, too. Interactive. Be careful, though.

Senator: Now that I have stopped laughing, here is my reply to your post. We were in the same hotel for the Blade Show and I never saw you at the breakfast bar. I have been to all of the shows in question but we have never crossed paths. Remember that I bought a Wegner Jr from you in the past. Tobii3 is my wittness. Thanks to all who have posted.

Hey, all of you DC area Knife Knuts, perhaps it's time to have another lunch so that Doug can meet some of us. One excuse is as good as another. Anybody interested? I can try to put one together in Chinatown, say at the China Doll, for a work week lunch date, or over in Virginia somewhere on a weekend. If we want to meet in Maryland, then somone else needs to do it.

Should we open a new thread? Thoughts gratefully received.
