Knife Shows in NYC area?

I am in a NYC suburb and we used to have gun shows which combined knife shows. Some years back the anti-gun crowd put an end to the gun shows thereby putting an end to the knife shows. I had heard that NYC being so anti-knife, they
were being held in NJ. Can anyone confirm this and let me know when and where? Links are fine I'll be happy to follow them up. Thanks very much.
 
Thanks very much. I take it these is only "large" shows in the Metroplitan area.
 
So these are
"Custom Knife Shows" and Custom Makers and Knife Purveyors attend. I take it that factory reps do not attend these?
Or is it not that specific?
 
Ok, final question if I may. Is there any reason either the NYCKS or ECCKS is better than the other
to attend? Or are they basically the same? Thanks. I realize the ECCKS for 2015 was in March of course.
 
Speaking a a native New Yorker who has been living out here in New Jersey for many years, both shows are really a pleasure now. The City venues were generally rat holes compared to what we have here.

Wide open beautiful rooms, well-lit, no crowds on the way to the shows, fresh air! :D
Same great knifemakers.
 
I was told that the March ECCKS has about half the exhibitors as the November NYCKS.
Do you think that is true?

Half is a bit of an exaggeration, but NYCKS seems to have a few bigger names in the industry as compared to ECCKS. I think it has to do with timing of other shows around the same time as ECCKS.
