Does anyone know of a show on cable that has to do with knife collecting or buying knives, etc. Someone mentioned that there was a show selling lots of knives at wholesale prices, and we were curious to know if this type of show exists. It would be great if there were a "knife collectors" show or something similar. Thanks for your help!:)

They were probably talking about the HSN channel. They sell bulk cheap knives and swords. Too my knowledge even the sporting, hunting, and outdoor channels dont have a show focused on collecting and buying.

There used to be a show on Discovery, forgot the name. They would go through different time periods using hand forged weapons and armor in a traditional approach. I haven't seen it on in a few years even as a rerun.
The weapons and armor were made by Knights Edge.

The Home Shopping Network has a Knife Collectors show that runs for an hour or two fairly regularly. They sell large quantities of junk knives for reasonable prices. Like 220 knives for $189.00. If you are into collecting large piles of junk knives, this show will fit the bill. If you like quality knives, this show is a huge waste of time.

Thank you for the info. I guess it would be interesting to see what they have to offer, but it would be nice to see something more informative or even an option to purchase a quality blade. I guess I enjoy the whole process of how the blades are made, too. Thanks again!

Smokey Mountain Knife Works has a show that airs on satellite TV on Monday and Friday nights, from 7 p.m. - 10 p.m. Central. They sell a lot of slipjoints, an occasional tactical, and quite a few fixed blades. Brands are primarily Case, Queen, Buck, Hen & Rooster, etc. for their quality knives, and they will also sell inexpensive knives like Rough Rider. A few of their offerings are exclusive to SMKW.

On Dish Network the show comes on channel 221.

You just beat me to it.

I love their demonstrations where John explains to Sue how amazingly sharp the knives are, how they will stay sharp forever, and what a great deal they are... but only if you ACT NOW.

HSN = Hilarious Shit Network

Everyone sais HSN but its actually ShopAtHome...totally different network, you can see the knife sets and even watch the live feed of the shows at their website...

just cluick on knives up at the top, or you can look at the guide to see when the knife collectors show is on usually like 11:00 pm to 4:00 am...I listen to it sometimes in the backround while I check out the forums...Its entertainign to say the least...lol...

Who has the clip of the guy breaking the katana over the counter & the broken bit jabbing him in the gut?
I never get tired of that.

Those morons even give toothless inbreds a bad name. The baseball card show was even worse.

It sure is entertaining tv though. Now does anybody believe that [Jim Frost] if he is indeed a real person would really operate a business with a bunch of goofballs that can never price a product correctly and he will really go off when he finds out what they sold his 'high quality knives and swords" for? They constantly say somebody really screwed up and entered the wrong price in the computer on this or that set. It that was legitimate, no one could stay in business losing money like that. Every deal tops the previous deal and each and every deal has never been done on tv before! One outrageous claim after another. Just head on down to the local NASCAR race and sell those Dale Earnhart commemoratives for a fortune! :barf:

Thats just the gimmicks behind the buisness...Makes people tune in and say wow, I gotta have that, I am sure that most of the buyers of those lots are 1 of 2 kinds of people...

1: People who just don't know much about knives, but like them (Amateur collectors maybe)

2: flea market vendors...who sell to people that don't know much about knives...Maybe some hunters, 1st time collectors, teens who just want a knife, hillbillies, rednecks, wannabe gang members, maybe people buying them as presents for other people...the list goes on...

I was once in that catagory..teen who just liked knives but didn't have much money to spend...and I didn't have any knife knowledge...but that didn't last long...maybe 3 months before I started reading the forums and learning about real knives...

Sometimes I yet at the screen, lol...when they go on and on about how the stainless steel is german and german steel is the best...and then the other day, lo get this the guy is showing a rescue knife and he points out that the slit in the handle can be sharpened so that you can cut seatbelts with it, not knowing that the knife blade itself goes into the handle, and thats what cuts the seatbelt...or other materials...Damn their funny! But my ALL TIME FAVORITE is when they talk about the quality of the knives...just cracks me up...but no matter hopw crappy the knives are, they are still knives on TV so I watch...Too bad I can't get Smokey Mountains show, at least I know they have some good knives...but I don't have satellite so I don't get it...

theres this other jackass who sells knives on cable. Chris somethingortheother. Wears a Tennesee vols hat. He has good knives and everything, but this guy is a super right winger christian conservative, and the show is just as much about insane propaganda as it is about selling knives.
