Knife stencil material in case of...

thin aluminum for me, got a whole pile of it the guy next door its about 6"x24" and a 1/16" thick, can get several patterns out of it, I going through and getting the wood patterns that I like and copying them over, and chucking the ones that look it a 4 year old made them

:D I know what you mean, I found a file full of old paper and cardboard patterns I made about 15 years ago. Man some of them are wierd looking wild patterns. Its funny how the ones I have now are so much more down to earth.
 
I use scrap sheet metal (heavier gauge) from my buddys shop, design my templates on Microsoft paint, print , cut-out, transfer to sheetmetal and bandsaw out. From there you can fine tune shape etc by sanding. Template gets a name, number then hangs on the shop wall , paper cut-out goes in my knife pattern folder. Doesnt take much time at all just the actual design part but then no 2 are the same..................
