This is the storage container my wife would like me to store my knives in.![]()

YUP! Happy Wife, Happy LifeHa! I like that.
My wife WAS like that early on...until I started buying HER some beautiful custom knives (from our Exchange) for carry and for the kitchen. NOW, she's just fine with them. The kicker? I also have her first name engraved on the blades...and now am doing something very similar for my daughters and gd-daughters.
She's happy; I'm happy. Everybody wins.
Have something just big enough to house 8-10 pcs.? I'm shrinking the collection as we type.
Exactly the size of my collection. A search on " 12 slot watch box " will give you lots of options for less than $20. Spend a bit more for wood. Glass top, felt lined, metal hinges, and a lock. Color and finish options as well. Pull the dividers out and replace with pluck foam. Holds 10 folders perfectly. I also have a small piece of matching egg crate style foam the fits inside the lid and holds the knives in their respective slots for travel.

...eeny meeny miny moe...
I've seen several threads on knife storage pop up today. It got me thinking of a way to better organize and store mine. A couple years ago, my wife wanted to start making some lotions and also needed storage for all the essential oils and other ingredients. I ended up getting her several DeWalt Tstaks and it works great.
They range between $20-40 per unit depending. All types of variations and they all connect together. This is the setup I bought her.
For about $100, I'm going to get 4 units that will store most of my fixed blades and folders and all of my sharpeners and stones. All neat and tidy in one spot. Check this stuff out if you need some knife storage.
Clever! I remembered that someone a while back had made the same suggestion and, at the time, thought it was clever, then.
Tracked the post down, and am going to share it to further inform others considering this nifty storage option"
jnevill, those look like cheap knock-offs of my $59 Harbor Freight mechanics chest66BC7C88-8D99-47BE-91C6-83881FDF3FEB by jim nevill, on Flickr
I saw that thread, that's what gave me the idea. They work great.
Small world around here! Funny how those coincidences happen!![]()
