Knife Storage Possibilities.

This is the storage container my wife would like me to store my knives in.

Ha! I like that.
My wife WAS like that early on...until I started buying HER some beautiful custom knives (from our Exchange) for carry and for the kitchen. NOW, she's just fine with them. The kicker? I also have her first name engraved on the blades...and now am doing something very similar for my daughters and gd-daughters.
She's happy; I'm happy. Everybody wins.

YUP! Happy Wife, Happy Life:thumbsup:

I like the Plano boxes with the dividers for keeping folders collected and organized. Folders live in an old ammo-can or whatever kit/gear stash they belong to. Since EDC stuff is the only real rotation, and thats mostly folders, there are not too many fixed blades that don't have a regular home.

Have something just big enough to house 8-10 pcs.? I'm shrinking the collection as we type.

Exactly the size of my collection. A search on " 12 slot watch box " will give you lots of options for less than $20. Spend a bit more for wood. Glass top, felt lined, metal hinges, and a lock. Color and finish options as well. Pull the dividers out and replace with pluck foam. Holds 10 folders perfectly. I also have a small piece of matching egg crate style foam the fits inside the lid and holds the knives in their respective slots for travel.

A lot of these are fairly fancy display cases, which seems it off place for these "tools" we carry.

The toolbox options are good. But kind of heavy duty for around the house storage.

I like something in the middle. Either Plano Magnum tackle boxes or that same style of tool/hardware boxes from Home Depot. They kind of split the difference between hardcore toolbox and fancy-schmancy display cases.

Well done sir...:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

And that is why I've gone from 20-30 to 8-10. Working on 6-8. Hopefully just one for each day of the week. Till the itch comes back. Where's my Benadryl?

I use the DeWalt TSTAKS, very similar with many options, range in price from $20-40 per unit.

Clever! I remembered that someone a while back had made the same suggestion and, at the time, thought it was clever, then.

Tracked the post down, and am going to share it to further inform others considering this nifty storage option"

I've seen several threads on knife storage pop up today. It got me thinking of a way to better organize and store mine. A couple years ago, my wife wanted to start making some lotions and also needed storage for all the essential oils and other ingredients. I ended up getting her several DeWalt Tstaks and it works great.

They range between $20-40 per unit depending. All types of variations and they all connect together. This is the setup I bought her.

For about $100, I'm going to get 4 units that will store most of my fixed blades and folders and all of my sharpeners and stones. All neat and tidy in one spot. Check this stuff out if you need some knife storage.

I saw that thread, that's what gave me the idea. They work great.

Small world around here! Funny how those coincidences happen!

More coincidences, K KooKooforKukripuffs ! Forgive me for going off topic a bit, but these are awesome! You are going to love it! Great minds think alike!!!

That other member who inspired you to buy the TSTATS...you two:

1) Both like (and misspell the same way) the Milwaukee (not "Milwakee") Fastback

Milwakee fastback hawkbill, ....

I second the Milwakee Fastback!!!

I also really like the Milwakee Fastback utility knives/box cutters.

2) Both carry a Byrd Finch2 on your keychain

Byrd Finch2

(from the "YOUR Keychain Knife" thread)

I highly recommend the Byrd Finch2, love mine on the keychain.

Had my Resilience in pocket and Byrd Finch2 on my keychain.

I mean, is that trippy cool or what?!?

But to get back on topic for storage, "safe queens" are in a glass door display cabinet/bookshelf furniture thing, user knives and knife accessories are in a "big box" plastic storage thingy with drawers.
