Knife Storage (sort of)

I'm looking for ideas on how to place my knives in on a shelf in my gun safe. I was thinking of some sort of rack where they'd be edge down to save space and easily accessible for admiring. Anyone have any ideas?
 
Really depends on size and shape of your gun safe, style and sizes of your knives and how much other stuff you have in it. Don't know what you have in mind but for safety and security I don't like my guns exposed when I'm showing someone my knives? Wouldn't have enough display space in my gun safes for all my knives anyway.

Have you considered a lockable mechanic's tool drawer cabinet? I sometimes wish I'd gone down that route instead of building a knife cabinet - would have been cheaper in the long run although not as classy looking or useful

That's what I use and it works great. The top of the cabinet is the perfect height for use as a small work bench and I keep my Sharpmaker set up there all the time, and the thing's on wheels so it goes where you need it to go.

I lined the top drawer with rubber mat so the knvies don't slide around. The second drawer holds the knvies I keep in the original box and the rest of the drawers hold tools.

It's certainly not as secure as a gun safe would be because of the wheels, but it's a lot more versitile, and much easier to move if you have to more it for some reason.

Thanks guys, but I was looking for some way to store them on the exisiting shelf in my large gun safe.
