Just curious were you fella's store all your knife's.My collection has about 16 knives of various length's and sizes.I know some around here have massive amount's of steel . I was thinking of building some kind of drawer system to display and lock up .
Where do you store your's , out for everybody to see or do you hide them.
Any Idea's Guy's.

Currently, a locked steamer trunk. Some are on display in a museum. And a few others are scattered around the house on display.

In the near future, for a permanent solution, I'm constructing a designated knife room that can be locked. Within the Knife Room will be a locking Craftsman toolchest, lockable store display cabinet, and simple storage shelves.

Some of my less expensive slippies, folders, and fixed blades are on display on shelves. A few other when not being carried (my 60's vintage Randell, early Lile folder, early Loveless, etc) are in a safety deposit box or safe. I also use a cigar humidor with silica dehydrators for storage of some as well.

I use a large pelican case, secure, water proof and damn near indestructable, also its lockable.

I use a large lockable gun case with foam inserts to divide large and small knives. Throw a few silica dehydrators, as stated earlier, and your set. The six or so i use all the time are in slots built into a shelf in my bedroom. Finally, the knives for my BOB and First Responce bags never leave their designated area except for some oil and some tlc time.

I use an architect's flat file. They come in wood or steel, usually having five drawers, each about 2.5" high and the size of a blueprint. You can stack multiple units, and each drawer makes a nice display when open, but out of sight when closed. My steel units have provision for a lockset, and I use an archival acid-free paper liner (which looks better than painted steel and won't corrode anything). Google an office supply vendor.

Your humid climate is right for a flat file if you can prevent rust. My dry climate is so-so, no rust but some handle materials shrink. I prefer my babies close at hand.

Welcome to Blade Forums, So many folks have seen this before, I am almost ashamed to show it:rolleyes:, but you asked how we store them, I for one show them.

My edc knives and multitools are in a desk drawer in my study/dressing room. My Becker is in my tool chest in the garage, and my Northstar is currently on a bench with some of my camping stuff, also in the garage. There are also a couple of folders in the cars so that there is a knife handy.

I don't have all that many knives compared to many here, and they are all users so they are stashed around where I tend to use them rather than displayed.

I keep my KNIVES in Bill's Custom cases, and those cases are in a cabinet in my bedroom.

Be carefull! It is lockable, but very easy to open! We had one here with a laptop inside, but somehow the number code was not working. I opened it by pulling out the pins from the hinges with my Leatherman!

As for storage of my knives: they are in a display cabinet.

Kind regards,

Jos

Customs in the gun safe with a number of others stashed around the house on the car and BO Bags.

Pelican case

Two soft padded Bill's cases holding 12 each.

One Kershaw knife bag.

EDC's are put in the Swiss Army pouch sheath when I am not using them as EDC's.

They're laying on top of a large Tupperware under bed box, and around the general vicinity of my bed. I need a roll or case.

Locked up in the gun safe which. I'm too paranoid about losing them all in a house fire or to theft. The safe is fire rated. Although not perfect, it's more protection than just sitting out in the open.
