how do you guys have your knives stored/displayed?

I need a bedside/nightstand solution.
Currently mine are all just thrown in with my watches and everything is subject to scratches.
 
I got the Apache 3800 case, which seems to be a close copy of a Pelican case. Apparently I need either a smaller case or more knives. Which of those choices is correct should be clear to this forum, if not to my wife.

I use these Akro Mils storage cabinets with Rubbermaid drawer liners cut to fit each drawer. They come in different sizes from 16 drawers to 64 drawers and you can use a label maker to identify the knife in each drawer.

Most of my ZT’s are locked up in a 80# combination safe. I’d love to buy a ZT or Kershaw display case but they go for around $500, plus I like to keep most of em in the box
 
Most of my good folders (30-ish) are lined up on my home office desk. The rest of my knives (fixed as well as less expensive folders) are in a drawer or at my cottage.

Not one in it’s original box or in a safe.

I got a two slabs of black foam an inch and a half thick and took one piece and cut slots out for the size of my knives and then glued it to the second piece then i fitted it into my bed side draw. If you want to get fancy you can glue some velvet on top of that. Easy and cheap
