Knife Storage...

Must have been a kharma thing. You were good? That's almost too much of a coincidence. The 3rd color doesn't have serial numbers does it?, so there's no point in looking. Joe

Yeah, gray ones weren't numbered, but it doesn't mean I don't want one!!:D

I'll keep my eyes open. I meant looking for the same serial number BTW. I know one store that still has green ones, but no go on the gray yet. I'll keep a lookout now though. Joe

i keep my knives in their original box...then inside another box (shoebox...) its not amazing...but i dont have such a massive collection....yet...;)

right now, the s60v blur is in its original box. some of the larger knives are in pouches in a screw organizer box from target where i keep maintenance suppplies. and the rest of my collection lives inside ZT brag bags. but after this fall ill need a few more of those bags :)

I've read that many folks use a humidor for storage. Some come with liners that seem perfect for a knife. I have no personal experience with them or any retailers.

Something like this...

Why would you want to keep your knives in a humid box? A humidor is lined with unfinished mahogony-family (usually Cedrela Odorata) wood. This liner is designed to absorb moisture and keep a consistent (high) humidity.

An unlined wood box would be superior to a humidor for knife storage. Come to think of it, I might just make one for my relatively tiny collection.

Here's a link to the place I buy silica gel packets. I keep 2 of these in my EDC case, and there's another supplier for bigger areas (closets, gun safes, etc.) here. I change the small ones out every time I have to change the clocks, the bigger 40 gram containers for the gun safes I change once a year. Good protection for a little money. ;)
