Knife Storage?

I just took out my clothes out of a drawer, and i put the anti-slippery mat in there and my knives are very comfertable :), also LOTS of silica gel packs.

I use knife rolls and i do have a knife briefcase coming from SMKW. I also keep some of my collection in my gun safe in the original boxes. I also have a nice Oak Display case for the knives I want to show. I also really like Mantazo's post of using the briefcase and the way he set it up, and I know it was a lot less than a Pelican, which are really out there.

I use small wooden boxes with a piece of felt lining the bottom. They are stackable, which is nice. Looks like this (cropped down to the interior):

I don't keep up with Spyderco like I used to and did not know there's a Manix2 with a different lock, a different clip position, and a lower price. Thanks.

And nice felt.

careful that the color from the felt doesn't transfer to the handle scales

Have you seen that happen? Just wondering because I've recently started using felt over the rubber no-slip mats. The rubber mats were staining from the handles, and the mat material was sticking to some knives.

Where are the boxes?

A collector's nightmare and a burglar's dream. :D Good thing you live in a secret bunker. ;)

I just couldn't do that without boxes. I would have a panic attack trying to find a specific knife, thus my OCD would get the better of me.

I have read about that problem here on the forum. I don't store my knives that way so no first hand experience.

I use perforated shelf liner of different colors and have not had a problem.

It might depend on the dye used in the felt. I kept some slipjoints of mine stored on top of some black felt. It did not transfer onto the handles but the bolsters got tarnished just from sitting on the felt. No big deal, I just polished them up and they looked new again.
I switched to some white felt that I got at the hobby shop and it seems to have solved the problem.

I'm using a cheap case I bought on Amazon:

I have that one too! :) I moved to a PVK 18 knife case - like a briefcase with soft handles and 18 padded storage pockets. Now that I'm down to < 20 folders that works with a couple laying out on my desk.

My fixed are in a tupperware box and another box for my folder boxes.

I got some tackle boxes and fishing boxes (plastic boxes with adjustable dividers) ans used them to sort my folding knives and maintenance items (lube, sharpeners, strops, Torx tools, polishing paste, cloths, etc.)
The knives go in a silicone-impregnated sleeve, then into the tackle box.
My fixed blades get stored in larger bin-style containers, again, in silicone-impregnated sleeves. The sheaths are stored in a separate container.

Ive got a couple of those 'Sack Ups.' Not bad for a very reasonable price. Only thing is the slots are a little thin and would probably not fit most Spydercos.
My sebenzas fit real snug. I think it would be perfect for smaller slip joints though.
