Is there a knife shop locator tool out there? Lots of knife companies have a listing of dealers (knife shops, gun stores, hardware stores, gift shops) that carry their knives. Some stores have told me they don't carry knives anymore, knives aren't profitable etc. Other than the Blade annual magazine or the Knives Annual book, is there a website that you can use to find knife shops? An app?

There are three knife shops within an hour to two hour drive of me. Edgeworks in Frederick MD, Country Knives in Lancaster PA and Willey Knives in Greenwood DE. I've found that there's another knife shop in Baltimore, with strange hours, Custom House cutlery or some such, the guy sets up at some of the local knife shows. There's also a spot about 20 minutes from my house called Gift Riteway in Red Lion PA that I just discovered although they've been in the same town for about ten years. I've heard of spots in Hagerstown MD, Downingtown PA etc. There was a place in Bel Air MD, they moved to Fallston MD about five minutes down the main road. There is an indoor firing range that carries all kinds of knives in Timonium MD, Continental Arms, they've got all kinds of knives.

Pipe dream?
 
I discovered a few recently by looking at the CRK and Spyderco vendor lists, like you mentioned.

What brands of knives do they have at Continental in Timonium?
 
Benchmade, Kershaw, a few Chris Reeve models. Some junkers. The owner was ready to wheel and deal with me, but I was just window shopping. One of the family members started them off on some Chris Reeve knives and high end flashlights, but he skedaddled after stealing from them. I stop there to get Surefire CR123A batteries, from time to time and look at the knife selection. Saw a Ruger SP101 I wanted with a 3" barrel, but it was in .327. I'm looking for .357. It's next to Magooby's Joke House. I've bought some big ticket items from them in the past at gun shows.
