Not really sure if this counts as off topic but I was just wondering if anybody knows of some knife stores in Ohio because I think that I would maybe like to hold a knife I want instead of looking at a bunch of reviews as most probably do. I know this is kinda an awkward question reaching out to Ohions but I'm kinda desperate. If no one knows of any its fine.:)

Fin feather fur in ashland has a ton of knives depending on what your looking for. Not too far from you and worth the trip if you like firearms too...

I think the best bet is to have all the Ohio knife nuts gather together to fondle each other's knives :D The best I've found are Bass Pro or REI in Cincinnati, but even those are pretty miserable selections.

River's Edge has unusual/ more expensive knives. They usually have quite a few Spydercos, Benchmades, and sometimes they have a big selection of microtechs and CRKs

I believe Spark has a store in Louisville. I was going to check it out in a few weeks; it's 10x better to buy knives at a physical store than online, especially if you already have some basic information about what's out there, types of steel, prices, etc.

I've never heard of a store called Spark, what is it?

He's referring to Sparks shop in Louisville, One Stop Knife Shop.

As for shops in Cincinnati, there is a great little local shop in Northern Kentucky called Cecil Clark Knives. He sells knives from Spyderco, ZT, Esee, Cold Steel, Kershaw, Victorinox, and so on. Also the new Field & Stream store has a pretty decent selection of knives but closer to MSRP.

River's Edge in Hilliard
Fin Fur & Feathers in Ashland

Then there are Cabelas in Columbus and Bass Pro Shops up near Toledo.

Cool store to check out but way over priced, full blown MSRP. I highly recommend Survival-tactics llc in reynoldsberg, smaller selection but much better pricing.

Ditto. It's a neat store to stop in and check out but their prices are full blown crazy.

They rationalize it with the good-guy "You're supporting local businesses by shopping here, we'll take care of all your warranty problems, etc" sales pitch though.

Why do I need a middle man to send my knifes to Benchmade or Kershaw for repairs?

Cabela's has a big selection. But also overpriced. I fell in love with my Military there. But they wanted over $200

+1 on Cecil Clark, great little store and he has more than you'd think available. I guess because he has an online presence also. Can I mention that?

this spring i hope to have a sharpen in and basic get together. the local farm store has a nice case assortment. there is a store in bellefontaine. i'm not sure what the name is but i know it has something to do with mad river.

Richard, I just read through one of your paper paper wheel threads. I'd love to get together and pick your brain! I learn best by watching.

Lehman's Hardware in Kidron has a huge selection of traditional knives.

I'm about an hour north of you and there isn't much up here either. I have to order everything online as well.
