I am going to be in Florida on vacation next week and was wondering if there is any place worth stopping into?

HeavyMetal Armory has a kick ass blade section AND is my Class 3 dealer :-) Cool toys to boot, they are in Bradenton Depending where in tampa you are.
As wells as stay out of a dealer called the GUNSTORE...in tampa, mucho complaints by many as well as neg. expierence myself :-) otherwise enjoy the trip and sorry couldnt be of more help.! Also You may want to jump on floridashootersnetwork and ask the same question, alot of Tampa guys on there as well.

bad advice for unsuspecting tourist.

i live in tampa. been to heavy metal armory. price stuff elsewhere before you go there to buy anything be it a firearm, blade or a glass of water.

example. their price on a spyderco stryker is $249.95. you can buy this blade a ton of places for MINIMUM $100 less. if you want to look around you can pick one up for around $130.

a word to the wise....

Have only gotten ROCK botton deals over at Heavy metal, Great place to browse i assure you. Andrew is friendly and very helpful, MYKEMS above advise is damm good advise always, be price aware when shopping out of your area! That makes good sense 4 sure, BUT if you find something you fall in love with there, tell Andrew(drew) you saw his ads over at Florida shooters Net. online and stopped by while on Vaca. MOST items will be 10% above cost, That has always been my past expierence and ya cant beat that IMHO :-). Enjoy and I hope you catch good weather.

There's a small knife store about 30 miles north of Tampa in Lakeland called "The Knife Place". It's on the corner of Knight's station road and Galloway road. He carries alot of older knives, slip joints and alot of used stuff. The owner, Dick Plank, is a very nice, honest man and I always enjoy stopping by. Bill Jackson in Pinellas Park has a good selection as well, but prices are on the high side. Hope that helps, Jim
