I don't even know anyone on active duty, so I'm just asking - has anyone had an active duty member buy a knife for them? Is that legal?

If it was me I'd just buy from one of those other "no problem" stores. The reason is their paranoid interpretation of the federal switchblade laws. Lots of other stores have no problem selling switchblades if they're legal in your state. The same reason Benchmade and Spyderco won't work on a knife and send it back to its owner. I don't see an ethical problem.
Guess you can always sign up and serve if you what that knife so bad.Yes of course, just wondering if anyone had found a way around it. Perhaps if they did they wouldn't want to say lol
Yea I did that 1978-1982. I'm 64 now and have stage 4 prostate cancer. I'm in the hospital atm, tomorrow they're going to vacuum a giant blood clot out of my left leg and install an IVC filter in my stomach. I'm bed ridden but hopefully I'll be able to walk again after this. I don't have much to do but shop and try to accumulate a few things just for kicks. My wife is into knives so she approves and likes what I collect. It's probably all going yo be hers soon, and she'll pass it on to our 2 1/2 year old when she's old enough. So if I was in good enough shape maybe I would sign up again, but they probably wouldn't want me. Thanks for your comment!!Guess you can always sign up and serve if you what that knife so bad.
