Knife suggestions

I'd go with the G10 Manix2. It has a much more solid feel due to full stainless steel liners between the G10. And the S30V is a lot easier to sharpen (than s110v) while still holding a nice edge for a good while.

To me , the light weight Manix , and any FRN handle knife , just feels too cheap and FisherPrice-ish.
I agree with you about the frn handles. That being said, do you like any grivory handles that Benchmade does?

I find in that price range I mostly carry Spyderco, most bang for the buck IMO
Short list of other brands I like according to price range
$20 to ~$250 Spyderco, and Kershaw/ Zero Tolerance are my favorite. Lots of good knives in the price range. Check 'em all out and take your pic!
$250+ customs, Busse fixed blades, Chris Reeve folders, be very careful to buy true quality once you soar above $250 knife budget

Closer to $20 you deal with more quality control issues and cheaper blade steel, but can still get a proper functioning knife from respectable manufacturers like Kershaw and Spyderco. NEVER buy gas station/ Flea Market
The closer you get to $250 the more you're paying for looks and name; in my mind ~$250 is the cap where spending more won't make the knife cut better or longer in most cases.

Every day at work (HVAC tech) I'm carrying a $60-$200 Spyderco (serrated hawk bills from the salt series, Endura, Delica, Manix,) and/ or Chris Reeve Sebenza, Inkosi, Umnumzaan ($500 range) and the Spydercos see 95% of the action.
Hope this helps and welcome to Blade Forums!
Thanks for the help!

I have not tried out Grivory. Not yet anyway. I tend to favor G10 with liners and titanium for handle material. I like a solid feel and a little weight to my knives.

The Benchmade Mini Presidio II is another really well made knife. It is a manual opening axis lock knife.

What do you find being in your pocket the most?

Since May, I've been carrying a Spyderco Domino
prior to the was a Kizer Vanguard
before that was short stint with a Kershaw Injection
and before that, I carried a Buck Mayo Cutback for about 10 years.

Glad I am not the only one that feels that way about FRN. The only FRN I have is the DF2 because my specific goal was "as light as possible". I dont like the minigrip plastic either. I had to go g10.

I havent had the bugout. I k ow most people love it because of the thin size and s30v. I personally prefer the 154cm as it holds a very good edge and is easy to resharpen. And also I like knives with a little thicker handle in a modern folder it works better for me. You also may wanna check out a spyderco manix 2. It is a blade I've looked alot lately and plan on getting it or another griptillian. Had to sell mine for financial reason, next to a case stockman or trapper it was my favorite knife u have ownes. But I don't think u can go wrong with either
