I,MY WIFE CAROL AND A BUDDY(BLAKE) FROM TENNESSEE WENT ON SUNDAY.
(NOT ALL ARE KNIFE TESTING PHOTOS-JUST CLICK ON THE ONE'S YOU WANT TO SEE)--PHOTOS WERE TAKEN 30 MILES FROM AUSTIN TEXAS.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

TOOK MY BILL SIEGLE "HOODLUM 2"-11" BLADE OF 5160,A MARTINDALE PARATROOPER,A G41 TOMAHAWK AND KA-BAR 1272(BELONGING TO BLAKE HOOD-NO RELATION TO RON)
------------------------------------------------------------------------

THE BILL SIEGLE "HOODLUM 2" OUT CUT/CHOPPED "EVERYTHING" I HAVE EVER OWNED OR USED TO DATE.
..TRULY FIRST RATE.
LASER BEAM TYPE CUTTING .ERGONOMICS ARE "PERFECT".....NO HOT SPOTS.ACCURACY WAS OUTSTANDING.AND TOOK LESS THAN 1 MINUTE ON THE SHARPMAKER TO GET BACK TO RAZOR SHARP.

--NEED A KNIFE TO MAKE A SHELTER--THEN PROTECT IT FROM ANYTHING??
THIS BAD BOY WILL DO IT WITH EASE------;)
COULD NOT BE MORE PLEASED WITH IT.:D

HERE ARE SOME PHOTOS OF BILLS WORK---SCROLL DOWN ALL THE WAY

------------------------------------------------------------------

THE AMBASSADOR G41 WARRIOR TOMAHAWK WAS RECENTLY OBTAINED-AND SEEMS THAT IT WILL BE A LOT OF FUN.WELL CONSTRUCTED-WELL BALANCED--AND A BLAST TO THROW. HANDLE IS ROUGH ON YOUR HANDS AFTER 20 OR MORE THROWS-MIGHT TRY SOME TYPE OF TAPE TO PREVENT BLISTERS.

HERE IS THE WEB SITE

http://www.haysknivesmontana.com/G41.html
---------------------------------------------------------------

THE MARTINDALE WAS OBTAINED IN A TRADE-AND IS GOING TO BE A GOOD "BEATER KNIFE".TOOK 2-3 TIMES AS MANY CUTS TO CHOP THROUGH THINGS WITH IT-AS IT DID WITH THE "HOODLUM 2".THE "HOODLUM 2" HAS SPOILED ME.
..LIKE DRIVING A "PORSCHE" AND THEN GETTING INTO A "YUGO".

GOOD KNIFE TO KEEP IN YOUR TRUCK/CAR OR TO USE IN YOUR YARD.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

BLAKE HOOD USED THE KA-BAR #1272 FOR THE FIRST TIME--AND WAS VERY HAPPY.HE LIKED THE ERGONOMICS AND IT WAS EASY TO CONTROL IN FLIGHT.FELT VERY SECURE IN HIS HAND.

-------------------------------------------------------------------

SINCERELY..

Thanks for the great pics, I really like that Siegle. Very nice:thumbup:

Bill makes GREAT knives.. And he just happens to be a really nice guy to boot! Great pics, thanks for the post!

Dr. Bill,

Mighty fine pics, reviews, and links.

Question for you, it that your hammock? If so, have you ever tried this "Hennessy Hammock"?

http://hennessyhammock.com/

I beginning to look around to see which hammocks work well. Thanks

Travis

Bill Seigle is definitely a class act. I have always wanted some, but I'm afraid that he'll be like Lay's potato chips - can't have just one! But I might have to start soon!

HI TRAVIS,

I'VE SEEN THEM--YOUR RIGHT NEED TO GET ONE.THAT ONE IS A $20 HAMMOCK I GOT AT ACADEMY--WORKS FOR OUR HIKING TRIPS GREAT.

TOOK MY BILL SIEGLE "HOODLUM 2"

Really nice knife, Bill does some fine work.
THE MARTINDALE WAS OBTAINED IN A TRADE-AND IS GOING TO BE A GOOD "BEATER KNIFE".TOOK 2-3 TIMES AS MANY CUTS TO CHOP THROUGH THINGS WITH IT-AS IT DID WITH THE "HOODLUM 2".

The martindales are pretty rough initial performance wise. You can get about 50% more performance out of them with some edge work, about 15 minutes with a bastard file.

Nice pictures.

Gotta agree with Dr Bill here. That Siegle blade is a beaut. In defence of the Kukri (and yes, I am an incurable Kukri fan), Kukri's are seldom made with that degree of skill and quality of materials. They also probably don't cost that much.

WILLIAM M, please press your caps lock key once.

:D

Very nice knives, looks like it was a lovely trip. Mr. Siegle must really know what he's doing!

Siegle - great guy/great knives. The knife in question sorta reminds me of

Mattindale - mine came too hard to even scratch with a new file, so hours with diamond sharpening tools to cure really thick initial edge (What ARE they thinking of?)

Elk bone vs. blade - very impressive pics/performance, but I would have used a saw. Pretty sure I would not try that with one of my khukuri's or a Siegle. Wrong angle on a hit and ^%$##@! I've seen elk and moose bone take pieces out of axe blades. ("Let me show you how it's done, kid." )
