Knife to add to collection

Para 2, most everyone gets one, you will too, just a matter of time. The S30V is a step up from from VG10 for edge holding and not as hard to sharpen as ZDP-189.
I have 3. They are so popular for good reason IMO.

I'll offer a few ideas.

The Gayle Bradley. Although not "scary", it's not really an office knife but it is my absolute favorite Spyderco. Kinda expensive. There's also a small Bradley that's more in line with low profile office carry--also kinda expensive.

Agree on the Centofante 3. I put off buying this knife for a couple of years due to the pinned design and smooth FRN panels but it immediately became a favorite of mine once I had it in hand.

Manix 2 lightweight in translucent blue. It's a large knife but the color and semi-transparency of the handle give it a people friendly personality.

Cat G10. Small and discreet. A little larger than the Dragonfly. Some of them had fit problems from the Taiwan factory (my first one did) but Spyderco will fix them under warranty.

Give the catalog a browsing. You'll probably come up with several options.

for the office/work settings i would invest in the native 5-G-10 version of this knife, with a PM2 people would probably run away from you!

In my office environment, I most often carry either a Sage 1 or Caly 3.5 (the Caly 3 might be a better length for you). The wire clip on these is less noticeable and the Caly in particular rides low in the pocket. While I don't carry it much at work, the Stretch would be a nice change of blade shape given what you already have, albeit a trifle longer than the Delica (but shorter than the Endura).

I'm still lovin' the Blue Weave Domino for office carry (XHP blade, titanium frame, g10/carbon fiber scale). Pretty much the same closed and blade length as the Delica, but a slightly fatter leaf blade. Can be opened with thumbhole in the office so you don't scare anyone. But if you want it quick, the flipper is smooth & fast with solid lockup. Definitely worth a look for both collection or carry. I think it's a good combination of pretty and durable.

If you want something for the office, then a Sage of some form is a good choice. Since you are already a fan of the Delica (as am I) a Caly 3 is very viable. It's like a more refined Delica--laminated ZDP-189/420 blade, carbon fibre scales, awesome jimping. On the other hand, it's a lot like a Delica, so if you want to mix it up more the Sage series is great place to look.

You could also consider the Domino or even the Dice flippers. I'm surprised the Techno didn't get more of a mention here. It's an interesting combo of beefy and easy to carry. It has a lot of fans as well. It's Ti with a RIL, so it's definitely different than what you have.

If we're talking out of the office, I think PM2 is the knife to start with. It has as many fans as it does for a reason. And if you don't like it, you can put it on the forums here at a fair price and it will be sold with a quickness.

Enjoy the hunt, it's at least half the fun.

If you have to clean game animals and you haven't tried any of this series yet, I really recommend trying out any of the Salt Spydercos.

My favorite and most carried is the Pacific Salt, but if it must be sheeple friendly I'd go for the Salt I or the Dragonfly.

Interesting steel, awesome performance in serrated edges, lightweight and slim knives, and if you get it full of sking, guts and blood just put it underwater and let it have a nice time there. You won't even have to dry it out, clean it or take it apart. Awesome blades!

I can't recommend them enough.

Hi Mitch, Little Spyder, Dghboy,

Welcome to our forum.

When we first learned a while back that people were actually collecting our knives, we were shocked. Why would anyone want to collect our knives? They're made for use.

Since then we have been aware of and try to a certain extent to provide designs that "could" be collected. Some of our designs like the Delica have been offered in a variety of; colors, grinds, steels and handle materials, more for personal preference, but still for use.

We also offer models such as the Sage series, which give the user an opportunity to compare different locking mechanisms on a single platform, or the Chaparral which does the same for handle materials. We have an "Ethnic series" that captures the "spirit" of a geographical area and transmits the concept into a modern folder. We have a Mule Team" series that permits comparing blade steels in a standard format.

We make far too many models for the average person t be able to collect everything. We do have a few of those, but they are able to.

Since all of the designs are created to provide the user with the experience of using that particular model. It is in the using of the design that permits the spirit of the; function / quality / materials of the design to be experienced. In the end, you will get what you like.
