Knife to carry with an HDS light

Am I correct in assuming, that the HDS is slightly slimmer than the beefy NovaTac?

The NovaTac is 26mm in diameter (metric, pls:D).

What are your impression on the HDS over the NovaTac (if I might be allowed that sidenote), please?

i own both an hds tactical from henry and an import novatac storm which i hacked to a 120p
the dimension are rather similar with the hds being a bit heftier and longer overall. dont have exact dimensions as im not carrying either light today. i'll post additional photos tonight along with specs if somebody doesnt beat me to it :)

as far as impressions go, there is no comparison between the two as far as build construction goes. henrys hds is the better built light hands down. the UI's are practically the same however...

edit: hah, i guess i did have a pic on my for for a quick side by side. hds and novatac on the far left :)

Thanks for info.
Having only seen pics of the HDS, I was pretty sure, that it was slimmer than the NovaTac, but must have been fooled by the slightly longer body of the HDS.
I had heard, that the HDS was well made. Its also a fair bit more expensive IIRC.

It's supposed to be extremely well made. Hopefully I'll find out soon.
It's a fair bit more expensive than the Storm, but not really any more than the 120P was, when last available.

Just had a thought -

I really love the Para2, and have been touting it as one of the very best EDC blades extant. The ergos, compression lock, blade shape and grind, handle size, carry weight, and in my case M390 steel are all just about ideal for me. The reason I got it and the HDS in the first place was to have an awesome EDC pair. I'm afraid replacing it would, for me, be a bad idea. Though I've really enjoyed and appreciated what you guys have put out there.

Has anyone tried aluminum scales on the Para2? The few mentions I've seen, people seem to like 'em. But then they sell 'em...Putman and Grimsmo both seem to do quality work.
Any experience with either? Or Both?
Costs less than replacing the knife, too!
I've seen conflicting reports - are they generally heavier or lighter than the G10? Or is the difference negligable?
How hard is it to remove and re-flare the lanyard tube?

Im tempted, but.....

Um - you think that's a lot? :) (Not trying to hurt any feelings - I've seen shots of people with drawers full. - Just sayin' - if you find a great addition, go for it!)

That's not quite all of 'em.
It's kind of a disease. Like buying knives, I'm afraid.

BladeScout - Do you have anything cool in the 6P's? I usually run Malkoffs in my SF's, but just got my first Triple.

Well, I figured it out.
The best knife to pair with an HDS Clicky (world's greatest EDC) is the Para2 (world's greatest EDC.)
Okay, it's my thread, and that's a bit tongue in cheek. I know opinions vary greatly. However, they are both highly regarded as great all-around EDC tools. And I agree.
I just needed to freshen up the PM2 a bit. Instead of aluminum, I got the "vintage" linen micarta from Cuscadi. Went with black to match the light - much as I love the shade, all that bright blue is really too attention grabbing for me. This is Just Right:

Looks great! I would agree with you about the HDS being the perfect EDC if only I could find one at a decent price, or Henry got caught up on orders.
