Im fairly new here. Havent posted in the Traditionals Forum yet. Just ran across it in the New Posts List.
Good topic though so couldnt help posting.
I may be in trouble from the git go. Are these Traditionals ?
The little SAK has a light so I can go get something without turning on all the lights in the shop etc.
The black SAK , an Executive, has the orange peeler for breakfast.
Is it considered a Traditional ? It is modern but my mentor carried one forty years ago, I bought one because I liked it. I lost it (a red one) many years ago and only replaced it with this black one just this year. I dont know why I waited so long to get another one. It reminds me of him and our adventures together.
The Case Trapper is about as traditional as I carry (other than my Sunfish reproduction) but this case is new and isnt CV (no patina . . . Im embarrassed to say . . . it doesnt come in CV with the stag if that makes any sense . . . Case-Trapper-Stag-In CV . . . seems like the most natural thing in the world to me). Anyway the longer blades are good for making a quick sandwich or cutting up an apple etc.
I couldnt help including the CS Hold Out III. I am pretty obsessed with it and it is pretty much always on me some wheres. So light and thin.
I rotate or carry all those when at home. Sick huh ? Mid summer it was mostly just medium stockmans. Cutting lots of tomatoes to work on my patinas . . . but thats another photo . . .
To try to redeem my self in the eyes of the keepers of The Traditionals I will say my all time wanna have knife is a real, old time, used by a workman back in the day, Sunfish. Maybe in 2016 I will get serious and find one. I looked on e-bay etc., this year but didn't see anything I liked and bought an inexpensive reproduction so I could see what that big flat blade was like in hand. That is SUCH a cool knife. Can't wait to get the real thing.
anyway . . .
