Knife under $250 for HS graduation gift

A Barkie and a gransfors small forest axe, that would be good enough I'd go camping instead of getting drunk at the grad party.:D

okay, unless I'm mistaken the poster said they wanted a bushcraft/survival knife so idk why some people are talking about axes and stuff.
anyways.

I think it would be nice if it was something he could use, and something that looked great.

like these...
which have already been posted but are just AWESOME so I would probably look into snatching up one of them.
:D
I like the s1 with red linen micarta.
great knife with a great warranty, that looks great and will perform great too!
:D

I would highly recommend a Swamp Rat or Scrapyard Knife. They make some incredably well built and highly functional blades for a repecable price. If you need more info drop by the Busse and/or Swamp Rat forums. They are a great bunch of guys and are will readily answer questions.

I want to once again thank everyone for the great suggestions and for sharing their experience and knowledge with me. As I stated earlier, I have decided to put together a bush kit. This kit will have knives and other backpacking and survival gear. I have 2 knives and some PSK stuff on order and a couple more decisions to make. When I have the kit together, I will try to get some photos to post.

FALLKNIVEN H1..around $150 and bulletproof, or the BARKRIVER AURORA, about $150 and bulletproof...I would bet my old salty butt on either one of these knives. The Aurora is prettier, and the H1 has a nice rubber handle...take MY advice and buy one of these, take the $100 left over and go to the NUDIE BAR with him....you will be the coolest dad on planet earth after he gets the knife and a lap dance.

Glad you swung that way! I'd love to see pics and a gear list when you get it all said and done.

Here is what my son got for graduation.
I went over the original $250 budget but we all know how that happens with knives

Hey Sharp Eye,

What are your thoughts on adoption? In particular a son who is probably older than you?

Excellent gift, I'm sure your son was thrilled.

Doc

Hard to find much that you couldn't get done with those, nice gifts for sure. My only HS grad gift was a 'Colt' folder, the thumb screw fell out after about 4 uses. Me thinks this haul is a might better. ;)
