So, yeah, I'm looking for a folder with a blade under three inches. No real other requirements, other that it cost no more than 100 dollars. Preferably under 50. I'd like a low profile clip, but it's not a necessity. I like the looks of the Lone Wolf T1, but it's a bit too long. I'm a big sucker for something tacticool. I also like wood. Recommendations? Thanks.

To start you off you might look at:
Spyderco Native, Benchmade Mini-Griptilian, Boker Trance, Spyderco Delica, Kershaw Leek, Kershaw Random Leek.

There are tons of excellent choices under $100 and even under $50 for something shorter than 3". Don't know about wood handles, not my kinda thing.

Benchmade 707, 556 and 525. Benchmade HK 14210. For a little more money you could go with the Bradley Alias II.

There are tons of Spyderco options.

I just picked up a SOG Twitch II, neat sharp little sucker. I am impressed by the fit, finish and function. Not bad for $28 off of EBAY.

Check Wally World... Buck #503 Prince <$25. Great traditional lockback. Mine is a keeper. Also, check their S30V Spydie Native - <$40. Great EDC, too. I have both - don't know which I'd rather have, if I could only keep just one.

Look at the EKI CQC14. You might see one on the aftermarket for about what you are looking for a mini CQC7 off of ebay should be about right. keepem sharp

I just got the boker trance and I like at a lot. I definitely recommend it.

I got a kershaw storm and it is becoming my favorite edc. you can get it in 3" or 3.5", combo or P.E.

I was looking for a blade length under 2.5" and discovered that Knife Depot's search allows for search by blade length. I did the hard work for you. Just click the link.

Of the one's pictured, I've heard really good things about the Benchmade mini-griptillian, the Fallkniven U2 (which I'm buying), Twitch, Flash, Spyderco Delica (might get one of those soon), Spyderco Dragonfly, and Buck Prince or Buck 55.

I'm also picking up a Buck Alpha Dorado in 154CM.

You might also include the Byrd knives by Spyderco. Like the Robin.

Happy hunting!

Byrd knives are among the best bang-for-the-buck knives. The Robin has a 2.5" blade. If you're looking for wood scales, though, I'd go for Buck.

Edit: MB1 beat me to it ;)

Right now, I'm seriously considering a BM 705. Anyone got anything good to say about that? How about the Kershaw Storm? It looks pretty cool.

The 705 an its newer bro the 707 are great knives , I would put it ahead of the Storm . The Axis lock is tops . That said you would do well to look at the Spyderco line , delicas and salts are a hell of a bang for the buck . Spyderco has given a lot of thought to small stuff that isnt lame .

The 705 is a quick little knife that very well built. Kinda thick for its size, but very easy to carry and has a strong axis lock. I've got the silver tweed g-10 version and must say the silver clip is a nice compliment.

I don't remember which was smaller the storm or the storm II, but i got the smaller storm for a friend and he seems to like it very much. Good framelock, nice slim profile, good steel and is a little lower on the price scale than the BM.

The Caly3 in G-10 is just under $100 and it is an absolutely incredible knife. A would suggest anythign by Spyderco or Kershaw. The Kershaw Mini-Mojo is a really cool little knife. I didn;t have any interest in it until I read a self-defense testimonial about it and I really want one now. The Kershaw Leek is also a really good idea for a knfie under 3 inches. One of the knifes that I play with most often is the Spyderco Cricket. I think it is the most efficient cutting machine. The Cricket in SE is a beast and it takes up about as much space as a dolalr in quarters. Any of those won't disappoint you.

Best of luck,

Tom

ANY Spyderco with a 3" blade or under, will do. I do like my CRK&T Mo'skeeter, though!
