Knife under your pillow?

A handy-dandy Ek Dagger in 440C within reach under my bed, a 9mm stoked with Glasers and an Underwater Kinetics SL4 flashlight to make them think the light of a wrathful God has suddenly shown upon their sorry home invading asses right before judgement comes down on them.

I keep a Cold steel Tai Pan in the nightstand right beside my head. I have attached a photon light to the lanyard hole. This guarantees I can find the little light.
Hopefully this will suffice 'til I can cover the 8 feet or so to my quick access Multi-vault. Therein lays a Glock 35 with 2 extra high cap mags and a sure-fire 9Z.
Good tactical point about the phone. I keep the cellphone charging on my nightstand. The 1st thing the B.G.s are going to do is cut the phone line if they think you have a security system. That way the signal can't be sent to the monitoring center. Good lighting, deadbolts and professionally installed security system are all layers in a well planned home defense program.
It's too bad it has to be this way, but as Dorothy said, we aren't in Kansas anymore.

And I thought that I was strnage because I couldn't sleep with all my knives!

The Military is under the pillow or in the pillocase. Next to the bed is one or more of these: Starmate, CBQ1, AFCK, ASP baton, Surefire 6R, phone. The cell phone is in the room too as well as noiser ranged ordinance.

On nightstand, cs exlarge voyager and streamlight stinger. In bedroom wallsafe, with keyed lock, .40 glock and .38 snub( his and hers). Of coarse deadbolts, outside lights and alarm system.

I live in a rural area where a knife just isn't much comfort for self-defense. Three aggressive dogs--two outside, one inside--a Mod. 629 Smith (stuffed with Black Talons) in the nightstand, and a 12 ga. pump, out of sight near the door, give me that sleep-like-a-baby feeling. Now, if my wife were as enthusiastic about keeping deadly weapons in bed as Donna B. is, I'd definitely be in for some sleepless nights.

They are not under my pillow but in a GAMMAiii Radio/safe on my nightstand:

H&K USP Compact 40 S&W or a Kimber Compact 45 with clips.
Surefire 6-Z
BM 730 or CQC-7

The Radio safe is VERY nice... am/fm and the thing does NOT look like a safe. opens via lighted keypad almost instantly.

You can see one at www.gammaiii.com

Well, they arent under the pillow, but they are right near my bed and under it. Ka-Bar, couple UC tantos, bowie, ninja POS w/throwing stars, and my kit knives...Jantz boot knife and my Elephant.

Ka-bar between matress and boxspring and auto stiletto & Khukri on the night stand an my Bushman mounted on a six foot shaft between my nightstand and the bed you know...just in case.

Just because I'm paranoid doesn't mean they're not out to get me.

I used to live where it was easier to own firearms. Then I had my Mossberg 500 12 gauge with riot barrel, and speed-feed stock loaded up staggered style with 3" Mag 000 BUCK, then 2 3/4 1oz slug, the #9 bird shot. Slug was accurate within inches up to twenty feet. Buck shot filled an 8" dish at 30' and bird shot would fill the room with annoying pellets when fired defensively from behind my bed in the corner of my room.

I kept this baby under the mattress next to an old Coleman 18" machette.

Now, in the city of cities...I have to rely on a six-cell mag lite, same coleman machette, and whatever folder I "accidentally" fell asleep with on my hip that night!

What's a pillow????

I normally sleep with my Lile "GreyGhost". Sometimes, just for fun, I'll switch it to my R.E. Barber "JumpMaster"

I do not place weapons under my pillow... too dangerous.

I have found a great tool... a weapons safe that looks just like a clock radio with alarm and snooze (actually IS a clock radio...) It holds my H&K USP Compact, 3 clips, my Surefire 6-Z and my BM 730. It locks with a softly lighted keypad, when opened it lights the interior with red diodes to preserve night vision, has a battery backup etc. Keeps it all safe from prying eyes and fingers.

You can see it at www.gammaiii.com

I have NO connection with gamma3... Just love their product.

Hope I never have to use it.

I have within reach of the bed at this exact moment:
-Gerber Mark II strapped to head board
-Cold Steel Tanto in night stand
-Numerous folders
-SIG P228 near bed
-Several Long guns stashed about

And my early warning system is a 6'2" VERY light sleeping brother. Makes me feel all warm and fuzzy when I go to the Land of Nod.
