Knife used in Ghost In the Shell SAC

jeez zombie thread. i dont think its aproduction knife seeing as how its in an anime i think its conglomeration of the kewl looking features seen on modern combat knives and that is why it looks familiar to people.

i miss ghost in a shell
and outlaw star come back to t.v we miss you

funny tho ive actually quit watching t.v and dont even own one. decided i wanted to spend more time doing useful things.

I looked at the Gargoyles and did not found a similar model of glasses :-(. I want to cosplay motoko.

Also the glasses look similar to the ones used by The Baroness on the new GI Joe movie. I want them so badly...

Actually many of the weapons featured in GiTS are based on real life ones. For example, Motoko carries an M23 machine gun, and a P-90 Pistol. Batou uses a Browning BDA9 and a SAK knife.

I've seen that style before, I think they may be common to law enforcement or the military (shatter-resistant, and cam stop up to a BB pellet).

I did a quick search and Oakleys might be a closer match. Check out this style.

It may not be an exact match, but looks pretty close to me. (I have some experience helping make cosplay stuff for my son!). Note that these glasses may be pricey!
You might be better off looking for "shooters sunglasses"

I have a whole book about the weaponry and equipment in Ghost in the Shell somewhere. Most of it is loosely based on real-world equipment- though the knives I believe are of Shirow's own design. His taste in weapons apparently comes from reading American gun and military magazines. His usage of terms is frequently inaccurate- he gets a lot of things mixed up or flat-out wrong. But almost everything he does looks cool, which is all that really matters. He is a comic book illustrator/ author after all. He deserves a lot of credit for at least trying. Especially since he's Japanese, and they have limited access to good information about weapons there.
