There was a thread on the forum a while back about knife vices. It had pics of some, including one that some one had just built. Does anyone have that thread bookmarked? I thought I did but, I can't find it!
The BladeForums.com 2024 Traditional Knife is available! Price is $250 ea (shipped within CONUS).
Order here: https://www.bladeforums.com/help/2024-traditional/
Everyone can search if they just use google...Firtst problem is I cann't access the search feature till I up grade, which I plan on doing in the near future.
Second problem I want to start building my vice now! Thanks anyway.![]()
am i the only idiot that bought one of these cause he couldn't build one?.....ryan![]()
Just to throw this out there for folks to think about....
While the one Bob Patrick came up with is quite spendy, it all comes down to the same type of factors that help decide a knife's value.
The pool bar unit has been fitted with great precision and then the entire thing is TIG welded. The knowledge and ability to do that type of work is what makes it more expensive.
But that's just something to think about... I have several different knife vises that I built. Mine are SUPER simple, and I think better/more versatile than this type... but the few times I've posted them nobody else thought so....to each their own
