Knife Visibility !!!

Nice pics as usual pitdog!
I also use orange 550 as lanyard material, needs to be replaced more often than OD though.

I get what you guys are saying but I never lost a knife in the woods. I generally sheath my knives as soon as I'm done using them. My sak is on a lanyard tied to my belt so in can't get lost and my machete/hatchet/axe are almost too large to loose.

I left a knife stabbed in a tree once to use as a toilet paper holder but as soon as a realized this I went back to get it. And that's the closest I ever came to loosing a knife.

Who here actually lost a knife knife the woods?

I need to pick up some neon paracord.

One of my favorite knives to carry is the ESEE 3 in Tan which just so happens to blend in very well when dropped in the desert.

I lent a kukri to someone ....

Me, I lost my very first custom, a JK Hiker. Maisy actually finished up finding it for me, this was the pic of it as she found it !

I've lost one fixed blade while on snow-mobile from a crappy sheath, I think at least one fake-sak while quadding. I got better at securing gear after that. Now i'm paranoid about it, which is my my RC-3 has orange scales, my Izula has orange and black wrap, and I am deciding on drilling a hole in my Mora 2k to add a flag.
Loosing a folder for me would be harder, as I do have a pretty good pocket policy, but anything can happen when you are distracted.
For me its more a fear of loosing gear while traveling, and having no way to find it easily while re-tracing my steps... Also, I get lost easily.

Funny, I spray sections of fencing and chainsaw tools with flo orange or yellow but never my knives. I like Earth tones. The bright lanyards make a lot of sense though.

I actually misplaced my bow for a few minutes after walking away once and tripped over a ghillied rifle.

I agree with facablade...go with blue if you don't want to loose a knife in the woods. In the fall an orange lanyard will blend right in. Blue stands out like sore thumb.

I fully understand putting high vis colors on a field knife, it definitely makes sense. I just like the looks of more subdued colors I guess. If I ever drop and lose a knife in the scrub brush, I will probably regret that decision though!

Yep...same here
