Knife with a flipper?

if i was ordering another flipper, i would get another skyline (imo the perfect EDC with the perfect price) or a junkyard dog 2 composite. that knife is BEAST!

Jamesbeat, I also have the RAM and it's my favorite knife. I too am a great fan of flipper knives and Kershaw is one of the BEST at making flippers, hands down. I also have the OD1 and it is an awesome little knife, sharp as heck and flips open like it has assist (which it doesn't). Add Kershaws great customers service and you can't go wrong. No, I don't work for Kershaw I just really believe in their product.
I think I'm becoming a Kershaw addict. ;)

Well, I folded and bought a Skyline today, and when I got home from Walmart, the RAM that I ordered from ebay was sitting in my mailbox :D

Once I managed to get SWMBO to calm down by promising to buy no more knives this year, I was able to examine them.

They are both beautiful knives, the RAM is built like a tank and opens like a switchblade, and the Skyline is small and light for EDC, yet manages to retain a very useful blade size/shape.
The G10 is wonderful and grippy.
I'm really happy with both of them, and I think I'll be quite happy to keep my promise not to buy any more for a while.

Does anyone know how to remove the thumb studs from the Skyline?
I'd like to polish the blade.

I think all of these have been mentioned, but I like:

Kershaw G-10 Tyrade
ZT 0350
OD-1
Leek

The OD-1 is the fastest, the Tyrade is a big blade that opens with satisfying "thunk", the 0350 is a big blade that opens quickly with a very satisfying "THUNK", and the Leek opens so fast with its flipper that the AO is almost redundant.

After having used many CRKT "flippers" in the last few years, and having enjoyed them, I think you won't be able to beat the Kershaws. That said, I also have to say that my Cold Steel Recon 1 is, of all my folders, the easiest by far to open — much easier than my flippers. It also sports a 4-inch black blade and a heavy duty axis lock.

Using a flipper, after awhile, actually can slower, especially with the Kershaws, which tend to be very thin. The flipper can still be effectively used with them, but requires you find the opening mechanism (tough under some circumstances). The CRKT Desert Cruiser, of all my knives, has the most pronounced flipper; however, it's a big sucker and its handle is thick, bulky and ugly.

Many modern knives are flippers in one way or the other. Not all knives that are technically flippers open equally. I have a CRKT M21-04 that sticks, while other knives have flipping extensions that are so small they're difficult to find and activate. The Kershaw Storm series is horrible at opening.

The Kershaw Storm. Great knife, but terrible flipper.

I don't think anybody mentioned the Kershaw Groove. I like mine - especially with the wood scales Phil made for me:
