OK, maybe my mind's slipping a little, I don't know, but I can't seem to think of a folder that's 5" or so closed with a blade that's at least 4". I'm asking what folder that's about 5" closed that has a blade that's OVER 4". I'm not asking about a 5.5-6" closed monster like the Rukus or lg. Voyager, but basically the knife with the longest blade in a 5" handle.

I'd put a price limit, but I'm figuring I don't want a custom & whatever production folder that fits the bill, will probably not be terribly expensive.

Thank you in advance.

how about the spyderco police 3 and civilian?

edit: there's also the benchmade skrimish, but the handle is around 5.5"

edit2: also consider the emerson super cqc8

I forgot about the Police 3, thank you. I had one & the blade's well over 4", but I'm looking for something that's at 5" so I can comfortably pocket carry it.

I have a BM 760 with a G-10 scale, so I don't really need the Mili with its longer closed length & about the same blade.

Thank you for the suggestions.

the Cold Steel kudu lists as a 4 1/4 inch blade, don't know handle length, but its cheap.

The new Kershaw Rogue auto, 4 7/8" closed, 4" blade. It's a lot of blade in a manageable size and rides well in the pocket. It is an auto if your area is less enlightened and won't let you carry one (I can't) but it fits your criteria. I have the knife BTW, it's a heck of a knife. If you don't mind a DLC blade kershawguy has blems really cheap in the dealer for sale section. Mine personally is uncoated, Just my preference.

The older G-10 Police is 5.25" closed and has a 4.125" blade. The unlined model is really light as well.

I keep forgetting about both Police models. Is it the SS or G-10 one that's about 5.25" closed with a 4 1/8" blade? I thought it was the SS model, unless they made a G-10 version of the old one.

Thank you "A_B_A" for the suggestion on the Kershaw Rogue. I'm not really into autos, but I like having one around (&, fortunately, can legally have them) & at that price, it's hard to beat.

Thank you everyone for the suggestions. I think I'm going to have to get myself a Spyderco Police model.

Stainless steel Police is:
Opened, 9-7/16"
Closed, 5-5/16"
Blade, 4-1/8"

G-10 Police 3:
9-7/8"
5-9/16"
4-3/8"

Thy let you carry an auto in So Cal? I thought blade limit was 2" for an auto there. In Nevada I'm technically not supposed to carry my Rogue, when I do I carry it I willcompliment it with a (soon to be coming) Leek so I will have the Leek for sheeple and the Rogue for when no sheeple are around.

Time to trot out the Police lineup. ;)

Yes, they did make the older Police (actually, the one we are most familiar with is the Police 2) in G-10, once with the hollow saber grind blade like the SS model and once with a flat grind like the newer Police 3.

The one on the far right is a Police 3. As you can see, it is a bit longer than the 2 beside it. The one on the far left is an original Police model with unchamfered handles and a shorter lockbar. In between are uncoated aluminum, Tufram aluminum, SS with and without lanyard holes, titanium, G-10 and carbon fiber. This is nowhere near all the variations.

What's wrong with your 760??? That's 5" closed and 4" blade. It's what I carry and personally wouldn't want or need anything more in a folder. If you need more I'd say get a fixed blade and cc the damn thing.

How about Benchmade 710? 5 inch G10 handle and 4.9 inch D2 blade.

I am traveling so I do not have my 710s with me, but those numbers are not possible, you have to measure the exposed part of the blade, which is listed as 3.9".

My 610 has nearly 4.40" of edge and an OAL closed of right at 5.8" stem to stern. Part of that length is for the AXIS lock and on the other very end is found a lanyard hole. I know the OP didn't want a Rukus, but I couldn't let it get called ugly names.. it has feelings, you know. It's already depressed - it and it's 615 Mini sibling were discontinued this year (Get 'em where you find 'em!).

The 710 D2 I have has just a hair over 4" of edge - and it's OAL is just under 5". My 630 Skirmish is another biggy - almost 4.4" of blade edge in an OAL closed of 5.25" )Frame lock instead of AXIS lock and no lanyard hole.). Discontinued for a bit, too. A satndard Buck 110 is 4.9" OAL closed - and ~3.4" of blade edge. See below for a comparison of the three:

I carried a 110 for years - now a BM 710. The 610 is a bit large - but please don't call it a monster. I don't want to hurt my Rukus' feelings... it's too sharp...

Benchmade LFK: 5.2" blade, 10.25" overall length comes top mind, but the closed length is 6.7" so that's that.
