Knife you're embarrased to own or admit purchasing?

I'm only a little embarrassed to own this because I like the knife. The dirt bag owner of the company sold it as made in Texas when it was actually made in China by We Knife Co.

Quartermaster Quaken XL (It is embarrassing to spell Kwaiken with a "Q")

I'll add this MMHW piece to the thread - I'm not ashamed to own it; but I sort of regret the purchase (read: I don't know what the heck I was thinking when I bought it). Couldn't tell you how many years I've had it; but I think I'm finally going to use it this year...to cut some sod, so I can add some soil and level off a few depressions.

Maybe I'll try one more time on the Exchange, before I turn it into a landscaping tool, lol

I've never been into any kind of knucks, but I wear a ring on each hand. Works nearly as well. About ten years ago I ended up punching a guy in jaw/face and left a nice imprint of Claddagh on his cheek lol.

That’s some phantom (the graphic novel super hero) shite right there!

I inherited a mixed collection of knives that included the big curved blade called "Fury" that had a knuckle duster grip handle radiating screw-in spikes. It screamed "1980s Hollywood B-movie serial killer" and I was anxious to get rid of it. Still, it sat in a box of knives I never looked at or even remembered, most of the time. When I finally got around to ridding myself of these junk knives I found homes for most of them but the Fury wouldn't budge. I finally tossed it into a scrap metal recycling bin while doing some renovating. Good riddance!
You must mean the Viper, made by Fury. It was a copy of the knife in the Stallone movie Cobra. And yes I have one!😎

Heh, Schrade Cliphanger hands down. Smoking turd of a knife.

Haven’t seen it for years and I’m hoping it’s lost forever, but it’s probably lying in wait to surprise me when I least expect it.

I forgot I bought one of those until I read your post.

I remember browsing the knives at a store and saw it was a "Schrade" so I figured it must be a good knife.
The plastic clip for the lanyard broke almost immediately and the liner lock was so thin it was a joke.
Probably the worst knife I ever bought.

I don't know what happened to mine either, :)

Here’s what I had to say about it in 2005:

_________________________
This HAS to be the absolute worst knife ever introduced by a quality knife company. Schrade makes good stuff, but this thing is an abomination!

It has a handle as ergonomic as a cactus, a blade that won't hold an edge, a retention system that doesn't work at all, a thumb opener that absolutely sucks, the roughest opening of any folder EVER, and a "liner lock" about as thick as rice paper! (with it "locked" open, you can move the blade toward the handle and watch the "liner lock" bow) The thing is an absolute piece of trash. I use mine as a grout scraper, and it barely functions at that job!

WHAT AN ABSOLUTE P.O.S.!!!!!!

My opinion remains unchanged. 🤣
This comment is GOLD :D

Jeez. I'm 42, but in my youth I did have quite a few tactifool knives. There was a little shop at North Pier mall in Chicago that sold all sorts of cheap ninja type crap. When I was 13 I had foam nunchaku, RIGID brand throwing knives (still have one of them in the sheath in a drawer), some smaller throwing knives with a wrist sheath, for hiding under your sleeve. I had a stupid little dagger, and some rubber throwing stars. LOL.

In my early 20's I bought the Phoenix knife by United Cutlery at a flea market for $25. Worst money ever spent on a knife. Here is a picture for your viewing displeasure.

This is also fitting for Tacticlol thread :D

I got this Twosun knife several days back, the TS255. I've picked up a couple of their other knives, which have incredible action and QC for the price. This TS255 is damn good for the price of a Benjamin. QC is near perfect. Action is very good on this thing. Originally I thought I would be a bit nervous about posting up due to the whole "made in China" debacle. Well, here it is:

I understand the sentiment about not wanting to buy from China. However, these days most of the knives that fit my parameters are made there, namely WE/CIVIVI. While I like some TwoSun designs, my beef is that they do not sell through the normal, trustworthy avenues but only through places like amazon, ebay, and aliexpress.

I'm glad you asked.

A man so embarrassing that his products make strangers feel ashamed to own them.
I think Danke wins this one folks- we can go home.

What young lad didn't salivate over the grotesque cheap bowie knives for sale in the back of the BSA magazines?
My Dad was good enough to always direct us to more sensible purchases, but if it wasn't for him I'm sure I'd have an abandoned closet full of cheap ninja crap.
In my eyes that's practically a rite of passage.

Yeah those magazines. Gateway drugs. Back when you could order those Spetznaz ballistic knives from the back pages of Soldier of Fortune.

I've had/have some bad knives, but I'm not embarrassed to have owned/own them. It's hard to know how far you've gone unless you know where you came from. I can look at my mistakes of the past and know that I'm wiser now.

I feel very much the same. I have absolutely no issues with manufactures like TwoSun and some others, but unless a reputable dealer picks up those lines I don't feel it's worth the risk of counterfeits. WE and CIVIVI are killing it, though.

Yes, and now they have another model I feel the need to buy. The Imperium in green micarta and damascus.

That's a really nice looking folder. I guess they showed a prototype button lock flipper at Blade called the Cogent and a kawikenish Bob Terzuola fixed blade and I'm in for one of each.
