Ordered a SOG Crosscut Tini and SOG Crossgrip Tini on 7/03/00. I received a SOG Crossgrip Tini and an SOG Crossgrip (plain)on 7/08/00. I called them and an extremely rude person named Paddy or Patty told me to send it back. I sent it back via USPO with delivery confirmation, and they received it on 7/17/00 and responded on 7/20/00 with a quick apology to correct the order. On 7/24/00 I received another SOG Crossgrip Tini but not the correct item, a SOG Crosscut Tini. Sent e-mail regarding the error and am still waiting. I can't fault Knifecenter's prices but their accuracy and customer service leave much to be desired. I did search TGB&U about Knifecenter and found that everything said about them is true. Basically, good prices and selection but hit or miss service. For an order that started at the beginning of the month, I am still waiting for the correct item to be delivered. For the record a printed email was included when I returned my order with an explanation but I guess that they're too busy to be correct. Knifecenter, you are too hit n' miss for me. I hope you guys improve because with service like that you're not likely to get much repeat business.

Sorry you had a bad experience Paranoid, Howard Korn who runs the Knife Center is a good man, though. Perhaps you should call them and ask to speak to Howard directly.

I had an order that got messed up with KCI once too. Howard took good care of me.

I hope this gets straightened out.

My first internet shopping experience was with Knifecenter of the Internet. I found their service to be pretty good, until my package got temporarily lost. When I called them to ask about it, I found their response to be a bit on the cold side. I figured with so many other internet merchants out there, ones who will give excellent service, I have no reason to go back to Knifecenter.

Interesting posts. I've bought a lot of knives from this site without a single problem. Compost happens, I reckon.

And so, to all outdoor folks, the knife is the most important item of equipment.

I have bought a number of production knives from the Knifecenter and have never had a problem. Even with International Orders.

That's hard to believe, but I guess anything is possible. I have dealt with the Knife Center for a long time, and have never had a problem, except waiting for back orders.

I deal directly with Kevin... He is a great guy, and will work with you. I suggest you call, and ask for him, and tell him your problem.

Thanks for the response guys! I am still hoping that someone will read my last e-mail and make things right. I will probably call this weekend because I am held up by work and a time zone difference.

Hey guys,
I am lucky enough to live close to KnifeCenter and have done more business with them than my wife will ever know about... Howard and Kevin are great guys to do business with. They love knives and knife nuts. Deal with them directly for the best service... as businessess grow, so does manpower needs, some people need a job and some people love their job. Kevin and Howard love theirs, that's why I deal with them!

Just an update, for an order made over a month ago. Knifecenter finally made good on what was ordered, today. I guess if you want fast, responsive and accurate service...go elsewhere than Knifecenter of the Internet. I tried what you guys told me to do, I e-mailed Howard directly but I got slower than tortoise response. I guess business is so good that my business doesn't matter. I'm happy that so many of you guys had good experiences with them and it is likely that many who read my post will shake their heads and disagree. I have no doubt that those of you that have had good experiences, did have good experiences. There are a few that didn't. I post for the matter of record so people that don't live in Maryland can benefit from a different but accurate perspective.

Just my 2 cents....... I live in Hawaii also, and have ordered from Howard and the Knife Center for years, prompt service, saw the stuff I ordered in just a couple of days. I did have to return a Cold Steel San Mai Tanto. Just called em up, put it in the mail, and I got a new one in a couple of days. I'm glad his business has gotten bigger, but I still get the feeling like an old familiar customer when I call up. Nothing but Aloha for Howard and the Knife Center.
Mahalo Howard, and Aloha from Kauai.

Experiences will vary...but I won't give Knifecenter a few years of orders until they get it right.

Update: Finally received the right item.
