I will keep the details limited, as I don't know how much Mike would want disclosed. My experience was as such:
- I offered a knife for sale or trade. Knifehunt contacted me with an appropriate trade and we set it up.
- I shipped my knife off as promised and emailed him the tracking number.
- I didn't hear back from him! Getting concerned, I emailed him asking him if he had a chance to mail his knife.
- A day later, I received an email from his wife letting me know that he was going to be unable to complete the trade. She then offered to either send my knife back or pay my asking price from the thread. I emailed her back letting her know either was fine.
Now, a LOT of bad BF exchange experiences start that way. Then, people never hear from the person again and are out a knife... bad stuff. My story is not one of those experiences.
- Less that 48 hours later, I received notification that payment had been made for my full asking price.
- His wife contacted me again thanking me for being understanding and commented to me how much this forum is like a family.
I'm pleased to have the transaction done. But, I am far more happy to have had this experience with one of my fellow BF members. Following through on your obligations in a timely and complete manner (by proxy, no less) when your life has taken a sideways step is an individual I respect and hold in the highest regard.
Suffice to say, I recommend knifehunt without reservation. I wish him the best of health and look forward to working with him again!
