Knifemaker Membership ... has it been activated yet?

I re-uped my Knifemaker memberhip through PayPal on Monday 1st of July. Has it been activated yet? I still cannot upload an avatar or use a sig line. Will I get an email when it has been activated?

Kevin, your payment hasn't been applied yet. Spark has to do it manually. He should see this thread as a reminder.

No email when it does go into effect but since you need to update it yourself at that time, see this: To update your usergroup to show your paid membership, click settings at the top right, then on the left click permission groups.

You can look in on permission groups to see when it's good.

Still nothing has been activated. When I click settings I go to the settings page but there is no tab or anything marked permissions for me to click on.
 
Still no activation. I logged on now with a Windows PC and through settings I still have no way to reach Permissions... I thought it might be just on the Mac. Any idea when the paid membership will be activated??
 
I hoped this would get sorted out by now. It seems the moderators are also unable to fix things. Still, I hope Spark will get whatever is the problem worked out or at least communicate.

Please either activate the Knifemaker membership I paid for on July 1st by the 31st of July or refund the money. I really don't want to complain through PayPal but that's what I'll do on August 1st if this han't been sorted out by the 31st of July.

I understand where your coming from. I paid for a gold membershiop upgrade on July 1 as well and since then I have contacted BF help and have also emailed spark directly...twice without a response. In my last email I asked (nicely I might add) when I can expect this to be done or some sort of acknowledgement that my messages/issue are being looked at....right now it feels a lot like pissing into the wind. Your a better man then me as I am not waiting until August 1st to open a paypal dispute. I would be more understanding if I and the many others in our same situation were getting some feedback but alas nothing and we must all sit here with thumb inserted squarely in ass and wait.

I honestly do not think it is too much to ask that there be some feedback. If the membership cannot be completed today, tomorrow or until next month then fine...just let us know rather then avoiding the situation.

Wish someone here would step up and make it right!!!
 
I understand your position, if I had not been a member here for so many years, I would not wait that long either. I just hope Spark is OK. He has always been very reliable. I thought he might just be on vacation, but another mod told me that is not the case.
 
Evidently he is having some issues..not sure what they are and hopefully everything works out for him however that still does not excuse the total lack of responses not only to myself but the numerous other people here being left hanging with regards to membership upgrades. I have gone through my fair share of shit in life and it wasn't easy but still if you say your going to do something then man up and do it...if you can't then say you can't...it is as simple as that. Anyways I have had enough of my time wasted and opened a complaint with paypal. Spark has until Aug 5 to respond.... either complete the upgrade that I have paid for or refund my money. If not on Aug 5 I will be upgrading my complaint with paypal to have them resolve this issue...I figure this action will get me banned which is sad because through someone's inaction I will be blocked from this site. Anyways I wish you all the best of luck in dealing with Spark and anyone else trying to get answers or membership upgrades completed.
 
Reading this makes me wanna hold off on buying a membership. Doesnt seem legitimate.

I've been waiting for some things to get done for me too.....
As I understand it, the owner has been having a bit of a rough time moving his business and with personal problems, site problems and then he needs time with his family and to rest. All I can say is you have to be patient and wait until he can get to it....or get refunded and remain at your present level.

I appreciate your comments but I honestly do not think it too much to ask for communication, especially in todays world where there is free wifi at evey other corner and just about everyone and thier dog has a smart phone..... I can understand the membership upgrade not being completed within the time frame if I had received some form of communication advising that he was in receipt of it and that he would get to it in due time...but having sent several emails without a response in my mind and I am sure there would be others to agree with me here, is unacceptable.

Also might I suggest that if spark doesn't have time to deal with issues on the forum as he is spread to thin at the moment, then why not gain the assistance of one of you moderators to assist with these "little" issues so that he can focus on his personal problems. Just seems like a logical solution to a simple problem....just saying.
 
The only way to get a refund seems to be by filing a complaint with paypal and letting them take care of it. Which seems like a shame. I could also sing a sad song about all the crap I have deal with, the thing is, business still needs to be taken care of. I hope Spark gets this business taken care of.

I agree...and all this over such a minor thing like a membership upgrade. Anyways I only want my membership upgrade if not then I want my money back...all in Spark's hands now.

Moderators are volunteers who try to keep the forums running smoothly. We are not his business partners or paid employees or even necessarily businessmen. We aren't even colocated at his shop.

Spark has to handle this since the records and payments go through his business.

I understand that but it is a simple of act of giving someone additional privilages...anyways I am done dealing with this issue...through his actions or more correctly inactions spark has show that paying customers do not deserve a response...it's in the hands of Spark and Paypal now..hopefully he will make it right...if not then that would tell the tale about him! Figure this will get me banned but I'd rather be banned with my money back then be sitting here, out cash and frustrated.
 
Still no membership activation and no refund. I really dont want to file a paypal complaint.
 
I filed one and still no feed back from Spark..I included in my complaint that if he were to complete the upgrade that I paid for then I would withdraw the complaint but ...wait for it...no reply or indication from him what so ever. Anyways on August 1st Pay pal will make a decision on this so I figure at least something will get done about it...too bad the owner here couldn't even reply to paying customers...I am sure we would all be more understanding and patient if there was feedback of some sort rather then total lack of acknowledgement to our existence

you are state side so you can use your ATM card or a Credit Card. I Always do that and I yet had trouble. they are in a country so if they do it that way there is extra fees or so I am told. I pay for 2 year at a time so I think I am saving a little bit of money too.
