Mr. Wells was very patient making sure he understood what I wanted, and maintained great communication through the build process. The knife arrived about 10 minutes ago, and I'm very pleased with it. Nice build quality, gorgeous acid/stonewash, and it's hair popping sharp. Would definitely recommend this gentleman if you're looking for a high value folder to carry and use everyday.

Thanks Matt, it was a pleasure.

Looks like a cool knife. Can you post more pics? Of the other side perhaps?

I'll put up some pics soon, having trouble with photobucket. Walter *seems I don't have any pics of the knife (??) Maybe Matt will post some for you. Sorry.

I'll post some pics tomorrow. I'll also PM them to Johnny.

It's very hard to get a proper representation of the stonewash with my phone camera. The blade is still slightly reflective, and thus, it photographs lighter than it actually is. It also makes it impossible (with my camera) to get a picture of the detail in the acid/stone wash. The second last photo (where the knife is in hand with my SAK and Hinderer) is the most accurate depiction of the colour, although the photo shows none of the depth or definition in the stone wash.

With Hinderer XM-18 3.5" for size comparison. Also the most accurate depiction of stonewash:

I recently had Walter create a fantastic EDC knife for me as well, very similar to yours mwally. Top notch craftsmanship and he was a pleasure to work with. Great communication and a superb knife. I haven't had a chance to photograph it yet but I will update this post when I do. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend Walter to anyone looking for a custom folder.

I'd love to see pics when you get the chance. Your photos are always superb!

Nice!
Does Walter call the dark blade Appalachian Damascus?? :D

I once called it "Harrisonburg Damascus":D but I really should not. There is a maker here in Harrisonburg who makes some fantastic Damascus steel and some darn nice fixed blades. You will be hearing about him soon enough. BTW, I like Appalachian Damascus better anyway.
